Domain renewed Posted by Supernorn2000 on 21.10.2005
As you can see, we've got our domain back! Zombiepanic.org is a blank page no more! Special thanks goes out to Myx0 and Marine_Eater for getting it back. I know it wasn't easy!
On another note, we've got some Zombie Panic: Source media lined up to celebrate the original release of ZP all those many moons ago. Thats right, A Halloween media release. Hold onto your seats, because we think you're going to like it!

HL1 Zombie Panic v1.0 Released! Posted by Twilight on 18.10.2005
Zombie Panic v1.0 for HL1 is out! Due to computer problems, other issues, etc, it took much longer than planned, but these things always seem to happen.
There are two installers. One is a patch for 0.94, and the other is the full installer for v1.0. They both include the Linux server .so file for hosting Linux ZP servers.
The www.zombiepanic.org domain is still down, although we are working the issue. In the mean time, the site can still be accessed at http://zpanic.hl2files.com. Please spread the word to others in the ZP community so that they realize only the domain is down, and not the entire site.

The links and changelog are below. (More mirrors will be posted as we receive the links. If you would like to mirror ZP v1.0, please do so, but send the links to [email protected] so that we can mention them here. Thank you!)

- Random weapon spawning in the player spawning area removed. ( We have pleased the heathen gods. )
- Wall/Strafe running exploit should no longer be effective.
- Cracked Survivor Face model repaired. (Thanks CoolCookieCooks!)
Changes: - Players can mute each other now.
- Spectator mode was restored, but removed again due to a difficult to find crashing bug. Sorry guys!
- Rifle ammo will now drop when the player uses Drop Unusable Ammo.
- There are now default keys for selecting ammo type, dropping selected ammo type, dropping all unusable ammo, and Panic!
- Players may only suicide after they've been alive for 20 seconds and theres a 5 second delay before the player actually croaks.
- Zombie jump delay increased to 2 seconds.
- You can now drop whatever ammo you have left, even if it's not enough to fill a magazine.
- Players can no longer pick up a weapon if they already have that weapon (thus destroying the gun).
- Locked cl_pitchup and cl_pitchdown.
- Func_train and Func_wall_toggle entities now reset upon round reset.
- Flag for func_buttons to allow them to be usable by certain teams only. (To use this you will need to recompile the map with the new .fgd, but otherwise it's not mandatory.)

- New version of zp_ruins (Thanks Watchmaker!)

Finishing the last few parts... Posted by Twilight on 19.09.2005
Sorry for the delay. We're just getting a last couple of maps ready, and looking into an entity error. I was hoping to have it done sooner than this, but we thank you for your patience. Hang in there! -Twilight
New version of ZP:HL1 almost ready... Posted by Twilight on 09.09.2005
We should have a new version of ZP:HL1 ready to release approximately by this weekend, or perhaps a few days later, depending.
This will be version 1.0 for ZP:HL1.
Changelog:
- Players can mute each other now.
- The grenade exploit is no more.
- Spectator mode has been restored, but the primary and alt fire keys have been disabled.
- Rifle ammo will now drop when the player uses Drop Unusable Ammo.
- Random weapon spawning in the player spawning area has been fixed. ( We have pleased the heathen gods. )
- Players may only suicide after they've been alive for 20 seconds and theres a 5 second delay before the player actually croaks.
- Wall running is fixed, zombies no longer gain a speed increase when strafing into walls.
- Zombie jump delay increased to 2 seconds to hinder bullet dodging zombies.
- You can now drop whatever ammo you have left, if it's not enough to fill a load.
- Players can no longer pick up a weapon if they already have that weapon (thus destroying the gun).
-Fixed Satchels not making a sound or explosion when a zombie was killed.
- New map: zp_contingency (Thanks Olmy!)
- Remade version of zp_thelabs (Thanks Spacer!)
- zp_santeria added as an official map. (Thanks Spacer!)
- Fixed player models. Backpack no longer clips into players, they are no longer cross-eyed, and the hole in their face is gone. (Thanks CoolCookieCooks!)
This will hopefully give the ZP community a more enjoyable and less exploitable version of ZP to play while we focus on getting ZP:Source ready.
(Thanks to Mendasp for the temp hosting of these images. Be kind to his bandwidth!)

New Site Launched! Posted by Kezei on 19.08.2005
We hope you like the new website layout! (thanks to Supernorn) It comes with perfect timing with the progress of Zombie Panic: Source coming along as it is.
Stay tuned for future updates!
Still working... Posted by Twilight on 16.08.2005
HL2:ZP is fairly close to being at the stage that HL1:ZP is at now, feature-wise. Additionally we have some new things starting to go in. For example, Rhone just added a Deus Ex style box that appears around weapons/items when you point at them. When this happens, you can press a key to pick up the weapon (Assuming you are close enough, of course). This will mean that you only pick up the things you want to pick up, hopefully preventing the situation where you run across a backpack full of stuff, which slows you to a crawl and gets you eaten by the zombies following on your heels. : )
We expect to start putting in a lot of new features in the very near future. HL2:ZP's core gameplay will be similar to HL1:ZP, but with *much* more depth and many new possibilities. Interesting things are coming up...
Web Site Updates Posted by Twilight on 02.08.2005
This is just a quick update to let you know that we're still working on things. Rhone just released a new version of the internal Alpha to our Playtesters this last weekend. I'll try to make sure more regular site updates happen in the future.
