New Site Launched!
Posted by Kezei on 19.08.2005

We hope you like the new website layout! (thanks to Supernorn) It comes with perfect timing with the progress of Zombie Panic: Source coming along as it is.

Stay tuned for future updates!

Still working...
Posted by Twilight on 16.08.2005

HL2:ZP is fairly close to being at the stage that HL1:ZP is at now, feature-wise. Additionally we have some new things starting to go in. For example, Rhone just added a Deus Ex style box that appears around weapons/items when you point at them. When this happens, you can press a key to pick up the weapon (Assuming you are close enough, of course). This will mean that you only pick up the things you want to pick up, hopefully preventing the situation where you run across a backpack full of stuff, which slows you to a crawl and gets you eaten by the zombies following on your heels. : )

We expect to start putting in a lot of new features in the very near future. HL2:ZP's core gameplay will be similar to HL1:ZP, but with *much* more depth and many new possibilities. Interesting things are coming up...

Potential New HL1:ZP Dedicated Server
Posted by Twilight on 03.08.2005

I've just been talking with the guy who runs www.hlgamingservers.com and he tried out a test server of Zombie Panic and liked it. He would like to host a dedicated ZP server (and a HL2:ZP server when it's released) in return for us displaying a link to his site, so as to get his name out to a wider audience.

His site is here:

Web Site Updates
Posted by Twilight on 02.08.2005

This is just a quick update to let you know that we're still working on things. Rhone just released a new version of the internal Alpha to our Playtesters this last weekend. I'll try to make sure more regular site updates happen in the future.

Just so everyone is aware, we are currently in search of Zombie Panic playtesters for both Zombie Panic and Zombie Panic Source. If you are an active community member; be it on the forums, irc, etc. and you want to give back to the mod, but don't have any skills in mapping, modelling, etc. (or even if you do) than this is for you. Please contact me via PM, and please include the following information:

1. How long you have played Zombie Panic
2. Why are you interested in playtesting Zombie Panic
3. When are you available for testing (Please be specific; time & day.)

Thank you,

New HL2 ZP Creation Forums Section Opened
Posted by Twilight on 14.06.2005

Just a quick heads up. To avoid too much confusion and searching through stuff you weren't looking for, we've added a new section to the forums: A mapping/modelling/etc section specifically for HL2 ZP. This way if you are looking for a HL2 ZP map, you won't have to wade through posts about HL1 ZP maps, and vice-versa. Note that the forums for HL1 ZP content creation are still there.

The new forum section is here, so be sure to put the right stuff in the right forum:

New internal HL2 ZP build released
Posted by Twilight on 11.06.2005

Rhone has just finished a new build of HL2 ZP. This one is notable for having the round system mostly fully implemented, and some of the ZP features instituted, such as zombies having more health than survivors, and regeneration.

After this build which pretty much finishes the foundation, we can start moving over the HL1 ZP features en masse, as well as testing new ones.

Things are looking good!

Requested changes/fixes for HL1 ZP
Posted by Twilight on 25.05.2005

I moved recently, and had no internet connection for the past two weeks, so I've been out of the loop for about a month. However, I'm back now, and we'll be getting HL2 ZP up to speed again.

However, due to HL2 ZP taking longer than expected, we would like to keep everyone playing HL1 ZP happy while waiting. Please visit this thread and help us to know what (small/minor) changes or fixes we can make to HL1 ZP to help keep things enjoyable while you wait.

We're Back!
Posted by Supernorn2000 on 14.04.2005

Well it took us a fair amount of time, but the forums are back online.
I'm sorry to say we may have lost a bit of data, considering the last site announcement is from february. Luckily our host keeps backups, or we would have lost everything when the database crashed.

Some sections of the forum may appear empty, but thats because the page may be set to "show posts from last 30 days" you can view previous threads by setting the tab at the bottom of the page to something higher like "show all"

On the subject of ZP: source, We're at a point where the game is playable, but still very rough. custom content has not yet been implemented, as we are currently concentrating on the gameplay. The polish will be added at a later date, followed by a media update.

Talking of polish, I was thinking it was time we had a new website. The design is being tweaked, and will be coded by our good friend, Helios.

If there are any talented mappers out there currently working on a ZP:S map, come to the forums and post your progress! We'd love to see what the community is coming up with.

Stay tuned for further announcements.
