Zero Ops (In Game)
In a world where everyone drinks Coca Cola. In a world where the American Way is the Only Way. In a world that is the future...
The year is 2238.
Location: Zero Operations Combat Testing Facility, Seri 8 Delta
Time: August 4th, 1500 Hours. A Tuesday.
Objective: Complete Press Demonstration.
Zero Operations Replaceable Recruit Mk II is activated in the half mile wide testing dome. Zorr stands on the top of a low hill covered in grass. A ten story high tower is standing in the center of the dome a long distance away, over watching its progress. The press wait inside eagerly with their cameras.
A flock of tiny cam bots float about Zorr and record this monumental day in droid application.
A bunch of target drones begin to spin into the air downrange in the target range. Zorr receives the order from the tower to complete the testing course flawlessly.
It is the day to begin all days.

Zorr unhooks the B-34 medium machine gun from its back. It holds the weapon as a person would hold a pistol, despite its size. The weapon raises a deafening roar as each bullet leaves the chamber. All of the target drones fall out of the air with a whimpering sound as their rotor blades cut out. The camera bots unleash many flashes of light as they record Zorr's 97.9% accuracy.

Zorr responds to the cameras by flipping them off and speaking a few choice obscenities.
Just as it is finishing its slew of words, an obstacle course of very difficult proportions raises from beneath the ground a few yards away. Included are seas of barbed wire, a very high wall, a moat, and more. The cameras go wild for this.

Zorr begins to sprint through the obstacle course. It wades through the barbed wire. The moat is jumped over. Zorr shoots a Zorr shaped hole in the wall climb with the machine gun and charges right through it. The monkey rings are demolished as Zorr tackles the support beam that is holding them up. Zorr keeps his momentum going and kicks the tire steps out of the way one at a time. They fly and bounce away.
The aluminum frame designed to test flexibility is wrecked as Zorr crushes its way through it. It makes a horrible metallic screeching noise. A rack of automated guns whose purpose is to shoot over the head of trainees doing an army crawl under barbed wire are all thrust down and then crushed under the iron heel of Zorr. It finishes the what-used-to-be obstacle course.
The cameras float about eagerly, surprised, impressed, and maybe slightly disturbed at the straightforward approach to the task. Zorr stops at the end of the course. It receives the order to report to the tower in the distance at the center of the testing dome.

Zorr begins to bend and shake like a robot out of the twenty first century. Its feet move in a mesmerizing fashion as it moonwalks while doing the robot towards the tower.
The cameras have a field day with this and begin flashing wildly.
After four minutes of intense travel-dancing action, Zorr enters a garage in the base of the tower. It walks onto to a small and specially built lift. The elevator begins to raise Zorr. The ceiling opens a small hatch for Zorr to be pushed up through.
Zorr finds itself on a presentation platform. It is in a movie theater sized room. The seats are all filled with media, government, and army personnel. They are all listening to a talk being given by an army official. A quick scan of the official id's him as Second General Thatcher, the overseer of the weapons development program on Seri 8 Delta, which Zorr is the product of.
The crowd goes wild as Zorr becomes visible on the platform and take many pictures. General Thatcher continues with his speech he has been giving, gesturing to a large screen behind him which displays a star map of Human controlled space.
"The Replaceable Recruit system will be able to take marines off of the battlefields." He points directly at Zorr now. "With its virtually limitless social capability, it will be able to keep law and order in areas where police can not be reasonably deployed or maintained. It can serve as firefighter, hospital technician, front line combat support, commercial transport pilot, and more, with no foreseeable limit of use or longevity."
"The internal fusion core and micro machine storage unit guarantees no need for maintenance for up to one hundred years. It is efficient. It is effective. Ladies and gentlemen, it is eventual. It is the premier of a whole new generation of United Systems security and prosperity." He steps back from the podium and says, "Since the Z.O.R.R. Mark Two is the subject of this meeting, I would like to ask to ask its opinion on the future of its make." He pauses. "So? What do you feel about the future?" The crowd is enticed with the opinion of the machine.
Zorr receives a preplanned line from command & control.

Zorr answers the silence with its well smoothed voice. It crackles as it first comes on. It sounds breathless and creepy.
"Pre-pare for un-for-seen con-sequen-ces..." The crowd laughs at this, thinking it to be a joke. The General laughs as well, taking it in stride. "It even has a sense of humor! This is billions of US tax dollars at work. So Zorr, about the future?"

In its ordinary masculine synthetic voice Zorr states, "In an answer to your inquiry, General, the future will have fewer meat bags in total than there are at this current time."
Thatcher looks at someone in the back and makes a cut off gesture. Zorr receives the command over ride to shut down.

Zorr readies its machine gun. Extra optical sensors activate on Zorr's shoulders and chest. Zorr's main eye narrows to a pin point as metal shields close around it.
"Combat protocols engaged. Please stand at least five feet away from this Zorr unit while combat protocols are engaged."
The audience begins to panic and many start to get out of their seats. General Thatcher motions for them to sit down and says, "This is all part of the demonstration! There is no need to worry!"

Zorr begins to fire. Bullets rip into the General. He is dead instantly: he hits the ground with a sickening thump. The bullets rip apart the podium as well. Zorr's top half rotates, the gun not changing position. The screams are drowned out by the gunfire. The gun clicks empty and Zorr reloads it instantly. There are no more people alive in this room. A few camera bots still float about in dissaray, still recording the session despite the death of their operators. Zorr records the 96.3% accuracy and makes a tactical note as to conserve ammunition more carefully in the future.
Zorr again receives the shutdown over ride command.
When Zorr does not shut off, alarms and klaxons start blaring. Zorr monitors the facilities activities off of the battle-net. Armed guards are mobilizing from the reserve barracks to disable him. All off planet bound transports have been grounded. Many security doors have been shut and sealed. No distress signal has been sent though. According to company policies for Zero Operations, the company attempt to rectify all situations themselves in order to avoid legal issues. Zorr follows embedded protocols and downloads the facility's layout from the battle-net. It is divided into several parts: the personnel quarters, the office complex, the space port, the testing dome, and the manufacturing/reactor sub level. Zorr is currently in the tower section of the testing dome.

Zorr hooks his weapon back on his back. He stands with his arms held out and his hands formed peace symbols. He says in a synthetic voice to the corpses in a volume greater than that of the klaxons, "If Isaac's three laws of robotics are designed to completely fail, that mean that the Z.O.R.R. combat system is a complete success."
The still functioning camera bots record this and take pictures, no doubt transmitting it to an enthralled audience.

Zorr checks his tactical routine data storage. He finds the psychological warfare protocol. He activates it. Zorr hacks back into the battle-net for the research complex. He implants 'demoralizer #385' into the system, carried by a fractal virus. The virus works flawlessly.
The sirens and klaxons are replaced with this song, on a loop. The song is deafening and echos throughout the complex. The red warning lights still spin consistently, giving the whole situation a ludicrous feel.

Zorr steps over the bodies and the torn seats and walks out the back of the room. A squad of US marines are positioned in the exit hallway, behind cover. They open fire on Zorr as soon as he steps out of the doors. The bullets bounce everywhere. The sounds of gunfire are almost inaudible over the music. Zorr fires a Y-9 disc grenade out of his left wrist. It flies into the middle of the marines and explodes. Zorr shoots everyone that is still standing. They spasm and fall to the ground.
Zorr continues through the complex. The camera bots follow him. As he walks through the offices, many workers attempt to flee their cubicals but are all gunned down along with their workstations. The cameras take many flashing pictures of this.
A few minutes later, three squads of marines enter a hall way behind Zorr. Zorr fires another disc grenade, but the marines are expecting it, and it gets shot in mid flight. Zorr keeps walking forwards but rotates his torso 180 degrees so he is facing them and lets loose a barrage from his machine gun. The marines are forced to pull back.
Zorr exits the facility and walks out onto the spaceport landing pads. They are connected by thin walkways, and the pads themselves are suspended many stories above the ground. Icy snow blows with savage intensity outside the facility. There are three freighters in lock down on the pads. A number of government and media owned ships are resting farther off. The wind is even louder than the music was inside. The camera bots are blown away.

Zorr rips apart an anti virus program to construct a secret back door path that he can easily access if so needed. He uses the battle-net to check the military presence on the planet. It turns out that this research base is the only (recorded) human habitation on the planet. Even though it has an oxygen-nitrogen based atmosphere, the planet is much too cold and inhospitable for colonization.
The droid hacks into the ship manifest. It only takes a second to locate the ship for offshore transport. The freighters are lacking in defense, ECM, and armament. They could easily be shoved out of faster than light drive and boarded. The media ships have the same problems. Civilian ships are usually not good for get aways.
The ship to get is the United Systems Inter-system Navy corvette, Deep Blue. It is on the farthest landing pad. It is equipped with the proper load out for Zorr's needs.

Zorr clicks his jet boots on and off, sending him on a rocket powered jump. He lands right at the landing gear of one of the media ships. He knocks on the closed exit ramp. He hacks into the freighter and tricks its flight computer into thinking he is a crew member. He walks into the ship, ending up in a medium sized parlor/ news management center. The people in the room turn quickly at Zorr and begin to panic, when Zorr calmly states in a smooth feminine synthetic voice that was all the rage in the twenty third century, "I am the Zorr Mk1. I have been reactivated to take out the rouge Zorr, and deal with civilian losses. He walks over to the nearest media man and says, "Identification, please?" The man quickly fumbles over an ID card.
Zorr uses his wrist scanner to add hundreds of thousands of dollars to his bank account. The man sees that Zorr is giving his credit a large boost with the wrist scanner and shots, "Woah! It's giving out free money!" Everyone rushes over to get paid for their losses. They begin chatting about the poor guys who died and how they won't be getting a pay raise. "Yes. This is to prevent you from having an unfavorable outlook on this whole incident. Incidentally, the Y-9 antipersonnel fragmentation grenades I carry in my chest launcher are also hand usable." The smooth feminine voice seems to be calming the news people down from their recent tragedy. "They are remarkably effective for clearing out rooms full of unarmored targets in situations such as this." Zorr dispenses a grenade from his launcher and grabs it. He jumps backwards with the aid of his jet boots and throws it. It blows up at head level in the middle of the group.
"Chocolate chip cookies are proven to reduce the stresses and strains of difficult situations." He dispenses cookies onto the corpses in the dozens. "Unfortunately, they lower your estimated life span by .02 seconds per cookie. Please keep this in mind when digesting your moral booster."

Zorr walks over to one of the control consoles for the news ship and attempts to hack into the news network. He enters into the system but then is instantaneously locked out and classified as an extremely virulent computer virus. Corporate AIs will do that to you.

Zorr rocket jumps over to the Corvette, Deep Blue. Once on the pad, he walks over to the ship and transmits a thousand different authorization codes. The Corvette’s security systems break down and the ship opens. He walks up the boarding ramp and into the vessel. Zorr walks into the airlock. The door shuts behind him, and he is cycled through out of the icy winds. He steps into the ship’s ready room, where marines equip for their operations. He walks out of this and into the main vessel. It only takes a bit to find the majority of the crew. They are in the crew recreation room, playing chess. They turn to look at him as he walks in. Zorr checkmates them.
Zorr walks out of the recreation room to the command bridge. He kills the few people that were there. After throwing all of the bodies out of the ship, Zorr shuts the door and modifies the ship’s AI to follow his orders as if he were a fleet admiral. It is easy since the Deep Blue’s AI is highly outdated and unintelligent. With its help he is able to control the entire ship.

While leaving the planet, Zorr makes a flyby of the news ship. He fires a few shells into it making it errupt into fireworks. Zorr flies out of the atmosphere and jumps to FTL speed.

Zorr uses the nav computer to find the nearest world. The only one that is within fuel range is a small agricultural based colony. Zorr redirects the ship to the planets. ETA is two days.
