No difference at all.
the difference is, survivors arent always guarding choke points, i think it would be a cool, and realitstic feature if you put a wood plank on a door and hear a beating sound and dust and peaces of wood flying from the door behind you, then a door busting open and the zombie comes through, versus, the zombie waltzing up, turning a door handle, casually openning the door, then eating your brains.

i was thinking more along the lines of swinging quickly, rather than destroying completely, think of a ram hitting a door and causing it to swing open

This idea has already been discused in other threads many times. The best way to have a wooden board that blocks a doorway to be useful is have a minimum number of zombies who must hit it to destroy it, for example 2. Otherwise it takes a long time to destroy. A secpndary attack for the hammer melee weapon making boards is the best solution i can think of without creating a new model.

Well it might just be a little difficult to add all those effects of wood flying and stuff.. I don?t know since I have no knowledge of modding at all ._.
But I DO know that it is alot scarier that you don?t know when the zombo is coming to get a sample of your braintissue contra the action-ish thing that is breaking down doors.

I agree with baracades, every zombie theme in the world uses it and its. neways my solution is a Source Fort Style baracadeing, for example
-allow one or two Engi Type classes who can pick up various wood, objects/planks and add hammer animation to weld the destrutable objects to door ways, ect
- place the objects scarcely around maps for them to use
- ive already seen blocking done with desk and other objects so a zombie shove should be implemented

just my opinion i love the game just got it today it rocks!

how about hitboxes on the "inside" of the door's hinges so survivors can shoot em off and cause the whole door to collapse? It would be funny to drop a door on a zombie LOL!

Nah, it is pretty easy, I believe, just on hit, it will make create some sprite effects, at the origin of the blocking thing (the wooden board). Voila, of course there's more to it.

Anyways, this idea would be awesome, it would encourage survivors to go out more, it would give survivors more time to think, you hear that door? "RUN! FOR YOUR LIFE!!! " as some would express it, others would think, "Zombie coming, evacuate the area, all survivors. Find an escape route. This would be perfect for people that want to stay in a place a little longer.

Of course the whole thing could be, the door never breaks, only the blocking wooden board. It's enough that there's a limited amount of doing it, and it would be a useful function objective maps.
In most cases the survivors dies because they never see it coming. This is a good thing to eliminate a route to guard. In most perspectives it's pretty useless but giving you enough time to evacuate is good enough. Some zombie players might even forsee this and surround the survivors BEFORE attacking the blocked door, and use the blockage as a trigger to lure out survivors in order to kill some of them.

In my eyes it adds up the fear factor, it gives time, it makes it easier for survivors to guard from time to time. It can also be used by zombies. If you cut off one route, what IF the zombies come from the other routes? Oh, you are probably screwed. It has strategic value.

That would require breakable environment and I bet the devs aren?t looking for that right now T_T

The biggest problem with having separate classes of survivors is that it would be a largely intensive patch, and lets face it, this is a third party mod.
Yes it would be cool, but it ain't gonna happen
