Default [WIP] ZPS_Real-Estate - Scribbles

I have recently begun working on a map for Zombie Panic: Source called Real Estate. The map will feature a residence in a mountainous, forest-ish landscape, bathing in the shadows of the night.

The objective, or rather story of the map is that you have managed to escape the suburbs and have fled to a rather isolated residence of an acquaintance from someone in your group. Once you arrive there however, you notice other people had the same plan, but stumbled on 'some resistance'. Too late to find a different place, you decide to stay there and attempt to survive through the night.

The map will feature two houses, a mainhouse and a guesthouse (so survivors have to leave the house at some point, for more weapons/ammo), it will also feature a swimming pool and a fairly large backyard area that merges into the forrest.

Pretty much the 'cabin in the woods', but bigger.

So far I've spent a week or so playing architect, and I've managed to map out most of the first building. The only thing missing are the cellar and the attic (and ofcourse furniture). Here are some pictures:

Note: Everything should be considered placeholder.

Really bad lighting like you mentioned, the whole structure could use some work as well. This map reminds me of a map I played for the first zp1.

Your blueprints suggest that theres multiple one way rooms, a good chance that survivors will block up in them for entire games?

also, The outside of the building doesn't really feel like... the outside of a building...

I like your main courtroom though, can't wait to see how it comes along.

The one way rooms you see are closets. There's three of them I think, two of them are connected through a crawlspace and one has an exit/entrance to the attic, which the layout doesn't show at the moment.
Edit: Forgot the one on the bottom floor. That's a toilet, I'll probably add a vent to the outside there.

As for the outside no feeling like the outside. I think it's a combination of texturing, lighting and me using a pretty small boxed area for the moment. I don't think it'll be an issue later on.

The house is bigger than it looks. I shot the screenshot at a weird angle.
Also, there will be another building, called the guesthouse, with a much different layout. I don't think the map will be too small. At least I don't plan to make it very small.

Today my goal is to finish up the attic. I'll add some pictures when it's done.
