O.....K.....

Anyway, I would like to point out that if zombies spawn from the corpses even though it makes more sense (if a game about zombies can make sense) it means if one person is killed in a hideout then he can just turn and devour his companions. Try playing CS: Source Zombie mode and you will find out how this is quite a key factor in the gameplay. I'm not sure it would be a good idea as the experience would be quite similar.

What I think might be cool is if a person is attacked then they turn into a zombie over a certain period of time (let's say 30 seconds for the sake of argument). When this happens there is some sort of sign that other players can spot so tell they have been bitten, and during this time they can turn and kill their companion if they choose to. In this case the victim can choose to stay inside the defences and wait until he turns zombie to devour everyone else, or make a run for it and return when he is fully zombiefied.

quite frankly, if i saw my buddie's corpse lying in the road suddenly get up and start chasing me? i'd s*** myself. that would be extremely creepy.

gameplay-wise, it presents some issues - killing a survivor inside his base for example. if he rises again, then the zombies already have a man inside. however, once players get used to it, then they'll train their weapons on the dead body and take him down as soon as he rises, and that's no fun.

the reason zombies spawn in remote locations is to give them a chance to get organized before shotgun-wielding humans take them down. everybody knows how cheap it is when a party of fully-armed survivors camps the zombie spawn.

but i like your twisted thinking. keep it up...

Yeah, it's a good idea, but I think the way zombies spawn now is just a better idea. Zombies just need a bunch more spawn points, that's all.
