Uh, no. It was founded in the UK, and is an international society.
And if you ask me, Mensa members are pretty dumb. They pay a stupid amount of money to belong to a club full of people with (apparently) too much money who want "proof" that they're smart.
I imagine the meeting discussions are cool, and they do manage to seek out the neatest puzzles, but who wants to belong to a club full of loose-pocketed egotists?
And really, the IQ test is only good at measuring your aptitude in taking IQ tests. Scores can vary widely, and are entirely dependent on the intelligence of the "measurement" group. A true measurement isn't really possible unless EVERYONE takes the test.
