Bioshock PC Demo
Hey guys,
As some of you know not only am I a lead dev for ZP:S but I also run the Machinima/Gamer site http://www.gwchannel.tv (Creators of the well known and award winning machinima "ClanWarz", "Militia2", and the compLexity documentaries. Well we recently setup the new Bioshock PC Demo on our network and are sharing this with the public to promote this wonderful game. Average download time is around 15-30mins (I finished mine in less than 10mins) for the complete 1.84gb demo. Read below for further information and enjoy
"BioShock" ? which has steadily built hype since last year's E3 and is veering toward a fall 2007 release on 360 and PC ? will cast its players in Rapture, a creepy, art-deco-style undersea city that is slowly flooding. The game will also pit players against foes like the lumbering Big Daddies, grunting men in bulky diving suits who collect bodily fluids from corpses. He hopes "BioShock" will change what people expect from every first-person shooter that follows it. He promises a game that mixes heaps of bullets, guns and blood with dashes of philosophy, economics and architecture.
GW Channel (GWFilms) most known for their machinima and documentary productions, is now offering the BioShock Demo through their revolutionary new network (powergrid network). With the most amazing download speeds this new network offers the 1.8GB BioShock Demo in an average download time of 15-30mins depending on your connection speed. Get on over to GW Channel www.gwchannel.tv and download your demo today.

about: GW Channel and Grid Networks
Powergrid is a software plugin developed by Grid Networks , a Seattle based company that specializes in high bandwidth data transfer applications for video and data. Powergrid works by connecting to multiple servers at the same time, collecting data from all simultaniously. This allows data to be sent faster and more reliably than traditional methods.
GW Channel uses Powergrid to deliver its video streams, enabling DVD (and sometimes HD) quality for all material uploaded to the website. It is also occasionally used to transfer large files, which also retain better speed and reliability than traditional setups. To install Powergrid, click here. This is an executable file that you only need to run once. You must restart your browser for the changes to take effect.
Just so you know the Powergrid plugin only allows you to access our Networks and is completely secure so there is nothing to worry about. Feel free to check out our streaming media as well when you finish downloading at http://www.gwchannel.tv
Tats...

Download the demo and play it, certainly, but I think you'll be disappointed with what you find. It's certainly a top notch game visually, but it has that same flavor as Doom 3. And by that I mean, it looks GREAT, but the "lol scare you" gameplay gets old fast, and what is SUPPOSE to scare us ends up just making us laugh half way through the game...
But. I've only played the demo and a small bit of what my friend's 360. It could be the awesome socks game that's been hyped for so long.
(Still worth the wait, just to see another UE3 game.)

I still have no idea what this game is about, despite reading articles. Like, I know it's a survival-horror-FPS in a sinking city and whatnot, but what is the plot?

And for the most part, the majority of gamers fill that description quite well. <_<

Your on a plane. Plane crashes. You swim to a tower. Tower has a submarine. Submarine takes you down to underground city you didn't know about. You learn that it's a city free from moral judgment in a political sense. When you arrive, you are attacked by a crazy. You talk with some random guy who makes you do his own work. Through this, you learn about Plasmids, genetically altering injections that give you special powers. These are made with ADAM, the genetic material taken from people, and used with EVE, a blue substance used to help the body remain "human."
This is just from the demo and some news releases, so don't go screaming spoilers.
