Default Rofl this game is still alive?

And not just alive, but alive and well. Though there are only about 20 people on at a time, this game is still a "living" community from that last time i saw it.

This mod is resilient lol.

Last time I was here I brought with me the inspiration to flash, and a very rude topic, and I apologise for it (even though 80% of what I said I still hold as opinion, just not as rudely XD)

This game is.... tedious. The official maps looked like they were an attempt to be scary. I guess they did a good job in that sense, and that I'm simply over-immune to scary games to think anything of it. However, unless there is a precise number of people, and they aren't all stupid or greedy, the map doesn't work. I don't need to elaborate from here, as everyone knows that this is usually the case for pubs.

Explosive (Start game, get grenade, run up to 20 teammates, drop nade, suicide, 19 teammates die): If You are standing on the grenade when it goes off, it does x amount of dmg. If you are 15 feet away just BARELY in the blast radius, it does the same x amoutn of dmg. If your on the very very edge of the radius... say 20 feetish, u STILL get hit for the full blast. Works great on zombies, but a bit too great. And because of this, it works even better on the person who placed it.

Also, I think the crosshairs need BIG work. You will spend alot of time if not nearly all of it looking near the center of the screen. They are fugly.... thats not a word i use alot. People who use dot crosshairs, love them dearly, people who don't, can't even function right with them. I'm one of the disfunctional ones. The concept of aiming with a half-centimeter cube on my screen is unrealistic to me. I made my own crosshair, but It's not a very good one, and being semi-competative sometimes, i don't like the idea of using unofficial crosshairs. (btw, can anyone point me to any crosshairs? i looked all over but couldn't find any

And now for ALL THE PARTICULARLY UNORIGINAL STUFF Stuff I felt u guys have been told time and time again, so don't even bother reading it if ur pissed off.

----
The weapons are limited, and odd. Which is expected in beta but its a bit too much.

The pistol (Aka pea shooter): is rediculous. 7 bullets per clip, it's a 9mm, that looks like a .45, yet shoots like a bb gun. You figure, on most first person shooters, people have an average 20-40% accuracy at any given moment. Even if you put a full clip into the zombie, hes gonna keep coming at you. Also personally, the gun doesnt... "feel" solid to me, u know? As if it were made out of aluminum or something.. I wont even comment on accuracy, as it would be silly to comment on something thats non existant.

The shotgun (don't leave home without it): seems sufficient for all its worth. No further comment

The 556ar (AKA the MWHAT?!?!): In the old version of its model, I don't even know if thats a real gun... In the new version, Ingame, it looks like.. i guess an m16? yet in a MDL viewer the gun looks so disproportional I swear it resembles an M4a2. but... wait wheres the grenade launcher? But other than synthetics, i have no problem with this gun I just wish there were more of them in a map. More ARs, but less ammo for them.

The revolver (Aka the wtfnowaihowdidhegetheadshotonmewtfbbqbanhim gun): Known for its 1 hit kill headshots, this gun tends to have balance issues within itself. Reason? Hitboxes. self explanatory, Headshots are either random, or due to vent (or any other space that requires u to run slowly in a straight line)

----

Player speed: a bit TOO dependant on speed to be realistic. Nevertheless, balances gameplay a bit. But I do feel the panic button should do something other than or better than dropping all your weapons, or at least give the ability to panic without the scream (it gives u away).

Zombie speed: A bit TOO fast to be realistic. But then again, we want it fun for the zombies right? I guess theres no right answer to what zombie speed should be. What I do have a problem with is duck speed. The jump has been fixed, but the duck on the otherhand is still exploitable, and disables what little capability for headshotting zombies is. It is literally a metaphor to (if not a simile) of a zombie doing jumping-jacks while running at you. Aiming for anything but the generaly body is impossible with this. Ducking should be slowed. Not the time between the ducks, but the time it takes to go from a standing position, to

So I got that all out of my system now lol.

Normally I would like to say that this mod has potential, but it doesn't look like it does anything as it is. If ZP:S feels anything like this game, it probably wont. But I do have faith in the devs! ^_^ I've been wanted to play the S version of this game for awhile now... over a year.

The zombie-nade bug is fortunately not in the game anymore.

Nice rant. I give it a 8.5/10.

Yeah, the rant was pretty good, altough I disagree with the zombie speed issue. It would be unbearable playing as a zombie if the speed was to be lowered further.

But you are 100% correct about the crosshairs: they are utter ****, to say the least. I fortunately have crosshairs that are really good, that a nice guy gave to me. If you say your MSN or Xfire (if you have either of those), I can add you and send the crosshairs to you.

If you don't like the crosshairs you can always type crosshair 0 in the consol and it will disappear. I played without crosshair for a while when I wanted a real challenge on Zp and it's quite hard but you learn to aim long distance after a while.

I don't want the speed of the zombies to decrease, just the time it takes to duck.

...

if u dont know what im tlaking about I could make a quick animation describing it?

At any rate, my xfire is StealthBeast. Lol, u have the same name as my clan leader

I did too. My accuracy after awhile actually improved beyond what I got with the craphairs (since after all this game isn't anything about aiming, just knowing when to shoot). The only reason I want crosshairs is due to habit, and the revolver (the only gun in the game requiring some accuracy.)

It's nice that people are taking me kinder around this time.

Play the current version before saying all this junk, my comments -

1. Grenade bug is gone like kommando said

2. The models, guns and crosshairs can be customized easily, you could even go on 0wn3d clan hideout and youll have custom models without doing anything

3. You talk about how some weapons are too weak and its too hard to get headshots and stuff, that depends on your skill, if you play alot you can easily kill 2 zombies with 1 clip of the pistol.

4. It would be stupid if zombies took a longer time to duck becuase its hard enough as it is to be a zombie, adding that would be stupid

5. The Scream is a important part of ZP, its not only funny but it alerts survivors that people need help, when people use the panic button it usually means that they are already being chaced by a zombie so it doesnt matter if there is a sound or not becuase that zombie will alert the others of where you are.

Actually the nade blast it's self is the engine's fault. Or atleast thats the way I see it. Plus the developers ceased development on ZP a long, long time ago. ZP was just a test for the full game, Zombie Panic: Source. ZPS is currently in development. The mod is a lot better if I do say so my self! You don't need to worry.
