I forgot my main point, and the reason I made that stupid post. Which is, why did you remove the half ammo drop option? Just as I reached the middle point in this thread I posted without reading the rest because it was too painful. Is there a reason you removed this?
It's the only way I share ammo. If I got a rifle, and I pick up a box of ammo - I'm happy to share it, well; half of it. No way am I handing out full boxes. I mean that's my only box. Is there anyway to chuck half still?
And I'm not confused about the server tag stupid things (a-z, right tats?) but if you don't go to the forums, don't read the changelog.txt and don't have access to that amazing image then you're pretty fu**ed.
You gotta keep in mind that NO ONE even reads the .txt files for maps. When I released my only map it was obvious 95% of players who didn't understand what to do had failed to even read the .txt file explaining so.
And you want these tech generation iPhone freaks to understand the server aberrations? Think about it. Someone sees h and H, they probably don't even realise there’s a difference. To your average American Joe who just finished a whopping sweaty time on the complexities of Guitar Hero, they simply won't know unless someone tells them.
Don't worry –
everyone here understands it, even a moron like me. But the others don't and that's where your problem is.
The guy above me who posted screenshots is a perfect example. It would seem he failed to read the news article, the forum post or the changelog about double slots. Throw cabin in the background and hey presto, you gotta prime time player of Zombie Panic: someone who just doesn't know yet yall expect him to.
You're all freaking out on ways to make people understand, yet the complete opposite effect is happening. Watch some of Valves behind the scenes videos/commentaries on how they made their games and faced that same challenge (which was even bigger for them) and troubleshoot it to death.
I mean let's face it: if and when you add another gamemode/feature/whatever you're gonna add another server aberration right? Where does it end?
ZPS Love making server ---- ZPS 1.9.2ci+D- --------- 0/20 players (forever)
What's right is right.
(p.s I realise you’d utilise Valves “tag” system if you could, but really is that any better?)
