Ranks Should Be Reconfigured for ZPS

For some reason someone thought it was a good idea to make getting killed a negative impact on your score, whilst playing as a team has no positive impact. This makes objective maps especially boring, with zombies retreating often and rushing less, and survivors selfeshly carrying 100 rifle ammo and a magnum while poor Marcus only has a pot. I suggest a teamplay-favored rank system. One that rewards you for saving your teammates and getting assists rather than "DONT DIE OR YOU'LL FAIL!"

If it weren't for TDR being a ranked server I would say remove ranks completely, this game isn't meant for that kind of competitiveness. Its a uniqe experience. Rather than (insert military here) vs (insert militant bad guys here) its armed, loud and sluggish vs unarmed, quiet and quick. Symmetric games are where ranks belong, not here.

I'm not exactly in charge of TDR's rank system, but I know we're currently looking into changing it or removing it for exactly this purpose. Our current rank system is flawed as it is based around symmetric games such as HL2 DM, as you've said, so don't hinder this idea because of a system we have in place. We want to change it as much as you do.

In any case, isn't this the wrong forum? Shouldn't this be in I&S? xD

This shouldn't even be on these forums. Go post on the forums for servers that use rank (TDR for example).
