Added various portals, occluders and hints.
Reduced lag in carpark to playable frame rates (5-15FPS increase)
Fixed picking up the tape
Improved FPS in general
Effects & Makeup room are now connected
Added a couple places for zombies to hide on the roof
Fixed signs on doors getting stuck and giving non-stop console errors
Fixed rare occasions of text never going away upon finding an item early

Upon finding both items, zombies spawn inside Channel9 entrance (+30s)

Added another cog spawn somewhere downstairs
Moved tape spawn from under the stairs to somewhere else & replaced with cog spawn
Deleted Makeup Room door
Decreased item glow slightly
Moved zombie spawn from inside gatekeepers house to the carpark
Fixed fading issues with some props and the helicopter
Fixed 3d Skybox nodraw issues
Refurbished rooms carpet is now nonsolid
Added zombie spawn under stairs (upon upload starting)
Removed annoying barricade from cabin
90% of weapon spawns are random

Fixed the Movie Studios barricade behaving incorrectly
Fixed vending machines being non-solid and playing extra sounds

Our group of survivors was getting smaller.
We heard rumors of rescue from a television station, Channel 9.
What's going on there?

Objectives:
1* Find the S.O.S tape and missing Cog (somewhere downstairs)
2* Correctly align the Satellite from the roof using the Cog
3* Upload S.O.S tape in Control Room "A" to the Air Force (3 mins)
4* Activate the roof area from Control Room "A"
5* Open the roof door and wait for evacuation

Highlights:

All doors open unless obviously locked or shut.

Game text does not cover cross hair or zombie lives.

Hardly any props to get stuck on.

Vending machines are made up of 20+ ents. Play with them.

Stuff breaks realistically (monitors, radios, arcade machines).

Dynamic Zombie Spawns.

Looking in unusual spots will usually pay off.

Cubemaps (ha)

Helicopter will crush you without remorse.

Secrets (will be revealed as people find them):

Hints:

When you upload the tape, stay at the computer until it is uploaded.

Items can be found in any order.

Roof trap does not hurt humans, only zombies.

There is a 1/16th chance the tape will spawn upstairs (2nd floor)
There is 2/16th chance the missing cog will spawn upstairs (2nd floor & roof)

Most primary guns are on the very bottom floor!

The light on the satellite indicates if it has been repositioned or not... green = yes | red = no

Do you have to pick up the cog before the SOS tape? I found the SOS tape but it wouldn't let me take it :/

First off, awesome map. I love the feel of it, the concept, the detail. Very interesting. Can't wait for it to be finished!

I only roamed around on it using Testmode by myself:

I'm gonna agree. There are just no guns. I found the ones on the bottom floor, and they are gonna be ~~~~ hard to obtain considering they're so close to zombie spawn. Perhaps have a few guns doshed around on the upper floor to allow the humans to go down and fight, but not enough ammo. So basically, the weapons are on the upper floors, but they just won't be able to last long enough unless they go downstairs for the ammo.

The objectives aren't confusing at all, I just read your notes and did as they said. Had a bit of a problem finding the tape as it didn't strike me as "obvious", but once I found a yellow tape with SOS written on it, I was good to go.

The upload time takes the shizz. How long is that, 3 minutes? And it's only on the first floor, right? They may struggle to hold that unless there are more guns as suggested, or some barricading stuff in there.

LOVED the camera in the News Studio. I was just figuring on how I could use it effectively in-game. Many people will give up their weapons for a chance to play "intel", in which they can remain in a pretty safe location whilst giving the team heads-up from the cameras lodged around the place; myself included. However, there's only one operatable camera as far as I could see. Maybe add more, and allow the survivors to be able to switch between them on the monitor? CCTV cameras? All this could be heavily detracting from what you intended, but with the lack of guns, this could be a job someone could do that would persuade them to give their gun up and still be able to help the team.

I know, I'm stupid, I got killed by the helicopter, it squished me. I wasn't sure if it would land and you get in or hang in the air and you'd have to be below it to win. Maybe a brief flash message that says the heli's coming in to LAND, clear the helipad? *shrug*

On my own, I didn't notice much lag from the carpark looking at the building, although that could well be because I was on my own with no-one else, or I didn't look in the right place.

Zero, you are an inspiration! This is what we need - MORE QUALITY ZPO maps. I have faith that the ZPS community is phasing out of the RACE 2 THE FINISH!!!! maps. (DarkWater, AcidWater, Escape, Last Hope, etc.)

The scene sets you've created are just wicked. I can't wait to be cornered in one of the sets!



But I do have one suggestion... the "Wait 3 Minutes" objective... pleeeeease half that! The "Wait Here for X Minutes" objectives that make Subway infamous drive me, and quite a few others, absolutely nuts. The reason is because ZPS gameplay is slow already... and those "wait here objectives" are about as fun as jabbing dull pencils under your finger nails.


I might retract my statement after I play it with a group of people. ; )

Yeah one thing I liked was the ability to pick up them in whatever order.

If you check out the Commodore 64 computer at the beginning it will have an error about the satellite not being connected. So even if you find the tape before the cog you won't be able to upload it until the cog is inserted and the satellite is repositioned. But yes, items can be collected in any order.

Yeah, I've actually limited the guns drastically. For example only one AK and M4 can ever spawn (other rifle spawns will be MP5), with the maximum amount of Magnums being 2.

The spawns for guns are random too, as in most rooms have the ability to spawn a gun but it changes every round. So you might have 3 rooms next to each other all spawning guns one round and the next is nothing.

Also there are some sneaky ones realllly hidden *godfather poster?*

One thing I never liked in Biotec was the helicopter itself. It kinda sits there, half the time it doesn't make a sound for me. Then somehow it pushes everyone away upon landing.

My copter has balls, if you stand under it then you better expect what would happen if you stood under a landing helicopter in real life Also as it gets closer to the building, the sounds actually follow it so you know what’s going on by listening.

Yeah I honestly have no idea how gameplay will actually go. I've had a stab at it in my brain then watched only a few rounds. The majority of players ran right past Control Room "A" - that's if they weren't the group camping on the roof (why? There’s no guns up there!).

But once people play it a couple of times and figure it out, they will realize that holding Control Room "A" isn't that hard, and 3 minutes isn't actually that long. The computer also gives a percentage of how much is uploaded as it goes, so players have an idea of how long they gonna have to wait for.

I'm gonna fix some of the in-game text giving locations. Like "Find the Items" will go to "Find the Items (somewhere downstairs)”. I'll check out the tape in the locker, always worked for me. Also I'm trying to get the items to shine a bit more, the tape seems fine but the cog is pitch black in the dark. Also please report any places you are unable to pick up items.
