Default Good stuff

Fol,
Thanks for sending me a video of your map. I like it even though it needs some tuning. Will respond to your Email shortly.

Tats...

Honestly, if you want to pursue a profession in games, I would say go with learning 3d Max 7 like the back of your hand. Once you have, post your resume on raph.com and I promise you will have atleast 20 job offers the first day.

Mapping takes serious devotion. I personally suck at it because I am to picky, and often go crazy detailed into a single room and burn my "oomph" out. Resulting in a un-finished map.

However, if you do pick up level design, it is very closely intwined with popular architecture styles. You have to pick a theme, mood, setting, and count for gameplay. Every last detail is important. (That is actually a lie, that is my own personal pact. Most people don't notice the map at all since they are busy wetting their pants running from zombies.)

PS: Dont map for Zp. Map for ZP:S.

Mapping is hard, very hard to do. It takes time and with mapping, time is your enemy. Plus if you ever go into mapping as a pro, you must look at some of the next gen games out there, think how long and how hard that was to make! As time goes on, mapping, as well other jobs in making a game, will get harder and harder to make. To me, I can only see gaming going so far till it's too hard and too long to make, but thats just me.

I'm not trying to scare you, just getting you ready is all.
