Ok I think this is the right place for the thread. Anyways my story is All Alone, and uhh it's about zombies. So tell me what you think, and if you like it ill post some of my other work (it's not ALL zombie related). Oh and BTW I made this for a science story :P so that's why it takes about "rays" sometimes. But oh well.
‘’All Alone’’
I remember the day so clearly, even though it was months ago. I was working late in the hospital that day and was going to head home after I finished looking at the last x-rays. As I hoped in my car I had the vision of the patient I pronounced dead earlier on in the day stumbling around in front of my car moaning. Well of course being the scientifically thinking person I am I thought I was just imagining things so I took off and put it into the back of my mind.
I was just about home and completely forgot about the whole dead patient stumbling around incident except for when I heard a radio broadcast. The broadcast said to lock your doors and windows, that a virus had broken out and was bringing people back to life after they’ve already died. It also mentioned that the most common wound they found on these ‘’undead’’ people were bite marks and that they thought maybe gamma rays caused this virus. Immediately I remembered about the patient, I also remembered that he had a bite mark on him, supposedly from a rabid dog.
Could he have been infected and came back to life? Or was this all a hoax and there was nothing to worry about? I had to find out so when I get home, I put a cup of coffee I hadn’t drank from ‘’Tim Horton’s’’ into the microwave to keep me awake.
As I was just pulling the cup of coffee out of the microwave I saw the silhouette of a human on my curtains. Was it an undead person, or a criminal trying to find a way to get in? Well I wasn’t going to take any chances. I grabbed a knife off the kitchen counter and headed towards the window. As I began to pull the curtains away I heard the same moan I heard the dead patient let out.
What happened next was utterly terrifying; staring back at me through the window was the patient. Before I had any chance to react he had shoved his arm through the glass, grabbed my neck, and began pulling me towards his mouth. In self defense I thrust the kitchen knife into his mouth with enough force to get out of his grip. The next site I saw was shocking and against everything id ever been taught in anatomy. He still looked at me with dead gray eyes, the knife going right through his mouth out the other side with a blackish blood coming out. He began stumbling towards me again as if nothing happened.
I’ll admit I flipped out! I ran out into the pitch black darkness of my neighborhood street and begin screaming at the top of my lungs. After I calmed down I looked around barely being able to see my hand in front of my face. It was a different kind of dark, it was the darkest I’ve ever seen my street. I realized that the power was out now. As I began to plan my next move the moaning started again right behind me. How could that have been possible! I hadn’t made a sound for at least 5 minutes since I screamed! It was almost like he had infrared vision to see in the dark.
I whipped around and began punching at a figure in the darkness. I made a couple good blows to his face before I took off down the street to a downtown area to search for a car because I had stupidly left my car keys in the house and was too scared to go back.
When I got downtown there was utter chaos, people being eaten alive, people murdering each other, fire in buildings all over the neighborhood, people looting, and worst off all, a huge jam of cars. Some were deserted; some had the undead in them clawing at people through the glass. Luckily I found a car deserted on the road but away from the huge jam of cars. I hoped in and found the keys to the ignition on the passenger seat. I put the key in, started it, and drove off.
I planned to go to somewhere up north, like a cottage. Along the way I saw victories against the undead but also leftovers of people who were consumed and now was one of them. When I finally found a deserted cottage I got out of my car and squinted from the ultraviolet rays coming off the snow from the clearly visible sunlight. Then I went in and unpacked.
And this is where my story ends, in this cottage, out of food, out of water, out of any weapons. I’m just sitting here writing this story with the undead all around slowly coming in. I’ve never felt this lonely in my life, now I truly know what it means to be All Alone.
