Ninja Zombies!

Often, I like to hide behind a corner or a stack of crates and wait for the survivors to run by. This works especially well on zp_industry if you spawn (as a zombie) in the shotgun area. You will hear them running there immediately, and there's a conveniently placed stack of crates right there. The problem is that you can't run out as you see him, because he'll reach the shotgun first, even if you hit him once. You have to do some guesswork and pop out in front of them.

Basically, dark corners, barrels, low vents, and crates are your friends.

Common Sense

If you get hit to below 90 hp, it would be wise to run and regenerate for a bit. If there are two or more survivors with their guns drawn, you might want to take a few bullets and run. Never run straight at a survivor down a hallway alone, unless he has no ammo.

It's easy to stay alive, if you don't just run in and take all the bullets until you die.

Teamwork

Here's the greatest part about being a zombie. Teamwork owns the ****y survivors, who think they can simply evade a group of you by climbing a ladder or something. You can use special tactics, like herding survivors, or cornering them. In zp_clubzombo, the survivors like to jump back onto the window ladder. Usually, two or more zombies follow on the ladder. You can go under and around, then run up the stairs to get the drop on the survivors.

Coordination is a great tool, especially when you do a mass charge, with arms and crowbars flying everywhere. Fun.

About you section on teamwork... Usually it's just because you have the sense to cut the surviour off instead of following him like a sheep to a shepard. I did that clubzombo thing too on the release day as a zombie. :D

I particularly like taunting the survivors to make them waste ammo on me, then ducking back and regenerating before doing it all over again. You'd be amazed how much ammo people waste on zombies obviously not moving to attack them.

Unfortunately the hiding-in-shadows thing doesn't always work out so great, due to the groaning and moaning sounds emitted by zombies that tends to give away your position. They are fairly rare, but I've had many a good hiding spot ruined by a sound that tipped off the survivor as to my exact location.

Exactly.

One more thing, go spectator and watch where most survivors run for ammo. For example, on zp_thelabs, Survivors LOVE that shotgun spot. A good thing to do is to hide behind one of the boxes near the shotgun, and when they run by, smack the one grabbing the shotgun. Another area on the labs is the room with the AR-15 (M16ish gun). That room is a DEATHTRAP for survivors.

When you have zombies outnumbering survivors, its time to RIOT! Stay in one group and be like a tidal wave!

Tip for a lone zombie - Taunt that survivor! Let him waste his ammo while you regen! 5+ hp each second is goood, use it to your advantage!

Pick off the lone survivors! - Often enough, many groups of survivors send a few people out to get ammo to bring to the group, pick these people off!

NEVER, EVER UNLESS YOU MUST. Take on a survivor with anything other then a pistol unless you know you are going to win. That is KEY! Zombies can not really do good on their own unless the human has a fairly weak wepon or very little ammo. Assaulting a shotgun trotting survivor alone = watching yourself get blown to little bits.

And don't forgot a ninja zombie's most prized tool: a stealthily constructed undead ladder. Simply crouch at a spot where another zombie will be able to jump off of your body up to where survivors are. The best time to do this is when survivors are dealing with zombies coming from another direction. (Note: You may need to stand up [let go of crouch, and tell guy on top to jump] to reach some high places)

Ah, an addendum to my ninja zombie section:

A true ninja zombie cannot go without the Flying Monkey Swipe attack, which consists of leaping down on a survivor from above, while screaming madly into your mic. This works very well in zp_clubzombo, against survivors who love to camp the dumpster spot, or those who are escaping through that little ramp alley area. Windows are situated well for those.

When faced with a long hallway, like on thelabs, I love to stand in the middle of it and wave my arms at the survivors, who are all in one big group.

At that distance, they can't hit anything, but they'll still try to shoot you (OMGZOMBIE!). Great for wasting their ammo.

The problem with screaming into your mic, is that unless alltalk is on you do nothing but piss off your teammates :P

i dunno, sometimes all the sneaking up in the world wont save you from a guy whose handy with a shotgun/magnum. it saddens me that the jump rate is lowered preventing me from strafe jumping, gliding, and limits me to a very inefficient bhop.
jumping around like crazy is always good tho, have them waste their ammo on you as you count their bullets, if you have enough hp on the last bullet go ahead and run towards them. ninja tactics are always good tho :P

I'm pretty sure that you can't do super jumps, glides, bhops, etc. for a reason, you know.

heh, yeah. but the way its designed right now its rather slow paced and reflexless. ive played way too many games where the guy just drops the pistol and runs around in circles. and then he uses his speed to get on some crate or box we cant get onto and when we're croutching there trying to stack up to him he blasts our heads. make this game a game of skill, rather than finding the hardest ledge to reach.

superjumps, etc .... wouldn't be good.

DEJA VU!!!!!!!!!! man i've read that 100 times, WE ALREADY KNOW

anyway, when they run out of ammo and they send a group to get it you shouldn't attack those who get the ammo, but the campers
because when they send the group, they give ammo to thel so they can survive(!!)
because of this, the campers have less ammo so you can easily (if your fast enough) kill them when they're fully out of ammo

Real zombies don't escape humans with weapons. They don't fear gunpower =)

A little bit too late to reply to this thread now, guys. It was created in November.

Anyway, he forgot to add the Super Zombies.
