Ok, I'm not trying to insult anyone but there aren't any 'extensive' Zombie Guides yet. So, I'm compiling all of my secrets <3 But first some graphics to spruce it up

~~~~====------The Zombie Rule of Thumb-----====~~~~ (stfu it's a cool name)
The Stalker
Alright let's start off with my favorite Zombie 'class' so to speak the stalker zombie. This is pretty much if you start off as zombie or your zombie numbers are lowering extensively or you're just flat out not a team player.
First thing you're going to do is of course stay out of sight. But here's the trick no one knows about when they're first going range is everything tactical to a zombie. first get range and cover what I like to call the Grassy Knoll Step then from there plan out everything you're going to do. You can see how many people are coming how well they're packed if there's an alpha dog giving commands and if they're organized. But most important one is where to hide at. so say they're a long distance away they can't see you and you got coverage great. Find a good place to hide and spot the alpha dog. If you work hard enough take him out for a couple reasons.
1. He's leading and when there's no leader they tend to argue or freak out and don't have good guidance.
2. He's most likely experienced so he's probably a good zombie too.
3. It's demoralizing to see an experienced player be the first to die so then they are under the impression that you are phenomenal.
From there you basically repeat these steps over and over again. Also, don't try to think of nothing but attack immediately. Plan an onslaught out. Take a hypothesis of where they will go and go there first then to have a doubly whammy on them. Go to where you would first go for the most opportune attack and then go hide around that corner. Because, experienced players will see this and then a short turn later won't expect the attack from there. When you do attack lunge only a a little bit. You don't know if they can juke or they moved before you hit.
The Team
Alright, it's inevitable there will be a time when stalking won't work because the prey is no longer moving. At that time you have to become a team player whether you like it or not.
When you're in a team formation and control is everything. You need to stay out of sight and yet build up at one time. Once you have a force you should try and see everything out. Send a guy in there to die and then report everything. He should tell how many people how many guns how many barricades and such. From there if he can go another step and tell positions you're in business. From there you assemble fleet and just mow on through there. The problem with momentary entries is this the flow of zombies in which there are two things you can do.
1. Brute Force : Brute force is simple send everyone in there kill everything you can and repeat with hopefully larger forces.
2. Trickery : Trickery is nice. Pending on how many people you have let's say 8.you send three in to die and then after that send the other five are probably reloading in which you most likely have time enough to take a few out before they can even get a shot off.
Final tactic for team players is this. When you have your group and you send your Recon guy in to die. You have to think of this: Based on how many people he said are in there, how many are still alive. When you have 4 guys in one room when there's 7 in all. That means there's a smaller less organized group, 3 guys pitch potched everywhere, or an ammo run. There you need to send guys all over send them in groups two zombies over here two zombies over there and 3 more here to keep watch. Cut the dead weight from them and add it to you (get it dead weight tee hee.)
General Tactics that 'could work' : If you have a mic like me (I'm a bit of a loud mouth but I don't use this tactic) You could tell 'funny' jokes to try and distract them. I'm serious if you get a guy cracking up he won't react as well. it's all based on how you set the mood.
Ammo Depletion : you could disregard one of my tactics and return to it by sending one or two guys in just to get hit then run back and regen and send two guys that look the same to do the same thing. they'd think they were hackers lol. Or even better it could work as bait and drag one to you. Then you have to try your best to cut him off from the rest.
I think that just about covers it I'm going to make a human one soon I hope you guys liked it. Work on your Jump + Ctrl it will help with barricades and such
you could pretend your AFK and wait for a plucky survivor to get his keyboard out then eat his face.
no they'll kill you if your afk. You'd have to get a pretty soppy guy to let you live if you're afk
based on personal experience anyway
i always see people getting their melee weapons out so they don't waste ammo
That's good to use if they need to break stuff but it wouldn't work one on one with a zombie unless they heavily depleted the health of the zombie or they have a machete esque special weapon.
It also works really well if 3 or 4 gang up on you with crowbars swinging.
If that's the case the best thing you can do hands down is too just target one and take him out. From there you should have an easy exit point and you can backpeddle whilst looking at them. When doing that pending on if they have any guns or not decides your fate. In which case if you're shot to death you already got someone so deed well done but if they follow you with crowbars. Lead them on as far as you can while regenerating then repeat. With best of luck you can pick the group apart.But other than that a crowbar does roughly 13-20 damage (I think, and doubt) and the rate of fire of the zombie attack is exceedingly faster and stronger than that of a human you'd probably be able to take out two regardless.
But based on personal experience this has never happened to me in HL 1 or HL 2 because it's illogical to try due to the risks being unreasonably high in the humans favor.
Well with people like that *assuming I know what you're talking about* you guys tend to get unspirited faster and bored and would venture out so e could wait it out and set a trap or just charge you lolz
