i started this map about 2 years ago, planning to release it for a source zombie mod, but since none were released until recently and i moved onto other maps, it never got finished. but now that zps is here i decided to fix it up for the mod and release it. it's set in an abandoned hospital with 4 floors (3 for patients, one for storage/staff) and a basement with a morgue, although if it turns out to be too big for this game i'll cut out the top floor. since it was one of my first source maps it doesn't look that good, especially the models, but before it's released i'll hopefully update it with more custom stuff.

If you think even for a second that I would play on that map...

I would rather go cry in my bedroom. :ohmy:

Can't help but say if feels pretty dark though, but if it was any brighter, It might not be as scary. >.<

Wow, this map is amazingly creepy. Good work on everything, reminds of the hospital from the Silent Hill games.

nice screenies, now i know what maps not to play.. way to freakin scary ^^..
more lights would make happy .
i would vote for this map to become an official zps map.

Only thing I got to suggest is fix the lightning, having random light spots with no model looks kinda goofy. Try using light_spot to add an even better lighting effect compared to the normal light entity. The rest is rather nice.

i'm not sure if you mean the light sprites, but i've deleted those since they don't fit the long light props, but all the light entities have a source in the map. a lot of the lights flicker on and off as well though, so you don't really notice a lot of them.

anyway, i just need to fix a few problems and then a beta should be ready by saturday. i've got no idea how it plays (and i can't even test the weapons/barricading since you need more than one player to be able to spawn properly), if it's too dark or too big, but i suppose that's the whole point of a beta. i've made a few new props/textures today, and also got the lobby done:

thats easy, when you get into the game, just type sv_testmode 1 in the console, then you can run around freely.

I have waited for so long for a map like this, it is almost exactly as I pictured such a map would look. Congrats, I hope it plays out well with the current gamplay style. If not you might consider adding objectives when we release objective mode later. Bigger maps work for objective maps more than last man standing ones do.

lol I like how you have bunk beds in the survivor team, chairs and cameras on the spectator, and a bloody cot looking thing on the zombie team. Nice detail man.
