I have a super computer with vista 32 bit. So it's not my computer.

Also I was messing around with the cl_updaterate and the cl_cmdrate but I put them around 33 now. My max_fps is at 300.

Tried lowering it as well but still crashes. (The FPS) What could be causing this? Also the level with the tunnel that's yellow with windows has major framerate problems.

I have 4 processors and a monster video card and my FPS drops to 0 when I look at the stupid tunnel. Yet people around me play like nothing is happening. Must be that I need to turn some settings down when playing that level?

Anyway anyone have an suggestions? Really annoying to need to restart game every level change :(.

Either you're lying about your computer or there's something wrong with your hardware. If you get 300 FPS anywhere on any map, you should be able to max out every single setting with absolutely no problems, while still maintaining average 100 FPS. The problem could simply be Vista. I have Vista, and my game runs fine, but I know people who have Vista, and their games run like ????.

My 3 suggestions:

1. Turn Windows Aero off. (GPU whore)
2. Download the latest drivers for your video card. Many, many people don't bother doing this because they feel it doesn't make a difference. It does, trust me.
3. Uninstall, restart, re-install.

Thank you I will download latest drivers. I have no reason to lie Numb. Here's my system

Q6600 2.4ghz x4, 3GB Crucial Ballistix ram (800mhz DDR2), Geforce 8800GTS 640MB DDR3, 320GB 7200RPM Western Digital Caviar.

CPU temperatures are fine as I have an LCD display and so are my system and hard drive temperatures. I'll let you know if I get it to stop crashing. Thanks for reminding me to download my latest vid card drivers.

Nice computer. I have had some problems with a few parts of some of the maps, myself. For instance, I was getting really low frames on zps_silence. Like, around 25. I figured I'd try the newest drivers, and when I loaded the map again, my FPS skyrocketed to 130-135.
