I launch the game and run the map and it goes to the lobby and I can select the team. But then the game wont start. It just says it's waiting for more people.
How do I get past that.

While in the lobby, write sv_testmode 1 in the console, then select the team you want to join.

You should add this to mapping guide/FGD's help (the one with list of weapons, entities etc etc).
Its so important =/ , and searching through 20 topics about mapping is not fun at all...
Things like these, should be in one place.

Thank you.
And I agree this needs to be made commonly available information

if you havent put any info_player_commons on the map you can put one in the main part of the map and that will work too.

why not combine the info form the tutorial, and the several posts around here into one all inclusive basic guide?
ex. it would contain in this order
------------------------------------------------------------
Intro
Getting SDK to run with pre-orange box games
Setting up the FGD
Where to find ZPS models
Tutorial about ZPS entities
Testing
Conclusion
Useful Links
------------------------------------------------------------
From what I've heard (don't flame) many of the released maps aren't optimised well maybe someone would eb willing to take the time to explain Hammer compiling theory and optimisation methods? or maybe post up some links

Nodraw is very important.

Everything is important, at the right time.
But yeah, neglecting nodraw for unseen sides are bad practise.
And as Avager said, that's THE optimization guide. Haven't seen any better optimization guide.
