When the Burmese military opened fire on thousands of protesters yesterday, Japanese journalist Kenji Nagai held aloft his camera and continued to take photos despite being fatally wounded.

As a soldier put a gun to his chest, he continued to his last moment.
Nagai was one of at least nine people killed when the troops opened fire, while a further eleven were reported injured.
Notice that the camera of Nagai is missing in the last frame. The barefoot soldier is just a pawn the generals of the junta who command him seem more likely to cause more pain and suffering on their own people. As well as direct their own troops to stop any news of it coming out But as aritcles show online you can never hide or totally block out the truth.
What a world we live in :(
[And just a future note, knowing how Kommando posts - just piss off and don't bother posting. Thank you.]

Sigh....
Kommando cease the trolling. You lack of human emotion is not wanted in this thread, and while your opinion may be shared, the fact you share it to cause problems is not allowed.
It is a shame that the burmese government is doing this, but it is not surprising. Burma is, if I recall correctly, a dictatorship.
Something to think about, This goes on in most of asia and the middle east weekly and monthly. This is only a big thing because its rare in burma. I am not saing its any less tragic, but this is life in 3rd world nations.
So where is the UN? Oh thats right, meeting with the Iranian president that wants to nuke israel and the west.

wel you did end up proving him right though
plus you are trolling because you know your opinion is offensive to some people

Offence of opinion does not make anything trolling, offending people for the sheer enjoyment of it does.

yes it does
you say something to cause offense is trolling
so if you know your opinion is offensive and still say it, its trolling

Offence is a relative term. Example : "I am offended that people dont support the troops, but I beleive that people can say they dont support the troops." There are certain lines to be drawn in what may or may not be said, but when we start to censor things based on offensiveness then we may as well not argue at all, because we argue because we disagree, and often disagreements arise from offencement,

Well the U.N. aren't justifying it as genocide as to what other people are saying. But also, the journalist is a forigner and they just pretty much shot him in the chest infront of the world. But they don't give a crap, it's their country. Something must be done, and I agree on that. But what reprecussions will there be is the issue most nations must be thinking. I would assume Japan wouldn't be all sitting on this at all.

Of course the UN wont call it genocide, or anything of that sort, because that would call into question all the other times they sat on their cushy chairs and dictated world policy while Africa and the ME went up in flames.
Rwanda? Darfur?
Japan can and should sanction Burma for what they did. They should also pull their people out of there. No longer safe.

Sadly, the only way there would be any improvement would happen would be the international community to fully pressure the state. Which is happening at this moment, but Russia and China recently veto'ed intervention. But there are reports that China is doing their own thing with Burma and telling them to calm down and do things peacefully.
It's the forign journalists that are getting this story to the world and so far, after the "accidental" death of Kenji Nagai (The journalist in the photos), more journalists are bound to sneak in to cover this story. Embassies are still safe though according to a U.K. national staying there.

Yeah, right, when I say what I think it is trolling, but when X does <verb> it is not?
Pointing out Beerwolf's reply in this instance is not fair grounds. He took the trollbait you laid out.
Thread edited. No cynicism or racism in this thread. If you think fascism is cool, that is fine. That is your character flaw. But do NOT insult the innocent dead, do NOT imply that any lives are worthless, and do NOT employ sarcasm or make jokes. Your opinion is an opinion. When you wield it as a weapon to judge those who think differently, you are calling everyone else's wrong. And at the expense of someone who died for no reason, no less. And nobody on this forum should be judged for not standing for it.
Kommando, I just end with this. If it happened on your doorstep, you would cry out in anger. And probably get shot. Think about it from their point of view for once.
