Just wondering who is making the official zp:s maps and if we could get an idea as to what sorta "competition" that us forum members are up against. It would be pretty embarassing to have the maps that we post screens of look like crap in comparison to what you guys are planning on releasing.

ZP team is pretty, I think, open about maps. If somebody submits a map that is good enough quality (which I suspect is super good like most of the contributers) then it might become a default in the following version. However, I suspect the team has some very good mappers, seeing what was posted before and all.. (however, i believe we need more 2d Artists.)

What Yokai said. At this point in time any maps we have are not final anyway, so posting screenies would probably give you a bad idea of what they are going to look like.

alright, got another question, are there any special texture packs which will be included with the public release that we could use to enhance our maps?

Unfortunately I highly doubt it. I believe it is now up to the mappers and their friends to build their own textures and if possible they may share them to other mappers. I don't see a texture pack being available from the team. However I could be wrong :P

alright well i have a friend who is good at making textures and models who might help me out. Right now he does some graphic design stuff for the US Navy. Last I heard he was making CG models of ships for computer simulations. He's made some really good maps in the past, hopefully I can get him to get an interest in hl2 mapping.
