Problem with Dedicated Server.

Hey guys, recently I have wanted to put up my own ZP Server, so I downloaded the HLDS Tool, ZP Update 0.94 etc.

Anyway, it wont show up on the server lists.

I turned off my Firewall, configured my ports and still to no avail!

It shows up when I add it by IP to favorites and I get this message when I start up the server.

Connection to Steam servers successful.
VAC secure mode is activated.
Adding master server 69.28.151.178:27010
Adding master server 207.173.177.11:27010

Thats it.

I can even join my server when its in favorites!

Whats wrong?

Um..... I'm not sure if this would help, but check for any type of downloaded skins, models, mods, etc, in your zombie panic folder in steam. If there are mods, I'm guessing you delete them. A friend had a problem like this before...

Your ISP might not allow it to go higher than lan. Make sure sv_lan 0 is on. And make sure ALL the ports are forwarded. (Don't take down your firewall. Just make it an exception.)

How big of a sever do you Intend to use? I woudn't recommned anything higher than a 10 man server with that ISP IMO.

when i used hlds ( without steam ) same problem i use just the dedicated server from the steam menu.... you use steam hlds?

I intend it to be about 10-12 people and yes I use hlds.

You have to port foward about 5 different ports if you use HLDS :/

I have the same problem, I think it's a problem with zombie-panic, not you server, becuase I've heard people say they can start servers up fine with no problems in other mods, but in zp it doesn't work for some reason. I hope ZP-S doesn't have whatever's cuasing this problem....

Yeah, a few days ago, I made a listen server in Sven-Coop, but it still won't work with ZP.

Yeah, I have asked mulitple people to try to join and I, myself cannot see it on the main server list.

Problem as i see it is that you didnt open the ports correctly, or the correct ports (HL and HL2 are different EXEs FYI)

I did open all the ports correctly, everything listed.

27015, 27020, etc.

TCP 27020 to 27039 inclusive

If opened

Host Server

Start Zombie Panic!
Click Server List
Go Favorites Tab

Click Button Add Server:
your.local.ip.here:portusedbyurserver

example:

192.168.0.15:27010

This way you can connect to your own Dedicated Hosted Server
Other should just use your Internet IP

Ensure that ports the following ports are open:

UDP/TCP 1200
UDP/TCP 27010-27020

in your server.cfg add a line sv_lan 0 if there isn't already a line that contains sv_lan. (If it already exists in the code, make sure it isn't commented out, and it is set to 0.)
