You could always host it on your own computer. I do that and it don't cause any problems or take much memory. But I recommend you to have a decent internet connection if you do this, otherwise you can't host for many players.

There is a place to criticise ktrain (http://www.ktrain.net), and it is not here.
Try going through 4uServers.co.uk
Or google (http://www.google.com) 'halflife 1 servers' and you'll get more than enough.
I always liked game2xs - they had superb support.

Quoted post
yes, yes i do
but between donating resources for ZP Source, and my existing customer base, and my public game servers, i can only host one more game server, or shut down one of my pubs, or all the servers would suffer
since i pride myself on providing lag free servers, i won't allow the resources to be spread too thin

http://www.drgservers.com
Starts at $1.25 a player slot! :o
I have a 12 man server for BrainBread, and I would have payed $15 a month, but I payed a year in full, which ave me 15% off, and I would only bassically pay $12.75 a month now.
Sure they are cheap, and they work just well. But don't expect too much from the tech support. That is the only downside that I see to drgservers. Other then that, they are really good for their price! =p
(If you decide to buy from them, tell them I recommended you =p)
