Try write sv_lan 0 in the console.

If you still have the problem tell it here and I will try to help.

Are you using a firewall? If you are you need to open the following ports:

UDP/ 1200
UDP/ 27000 - 27015
TCP/ 27030 - 27039

If this problem persists your firewall is most likely interfering with the incoming connections.

i dont know where to go to open those. if i knew for sure i woudnt ask :/

hmmm i think you have to use your browser....
fo example you type in 192.168.2.1
(right in your IE or Firefox or whatever) ...
then the routermenue should show up
...
(PS: this way I accidently found out that I was using the wirelesslan connection of my neighbour.. :-) )

@acehigh: Wrong. Ports can be opened for specific applications.

@Chris_Zx: First off change all of the hl and hl2.exe's to hlds.exe if the server you are running is a dedicate server. The 1200 port. Change that to 1200 to 1200. Not 1200 to 0.
Make sure that the port 27015 (default) is open and set on the hl.exe and/or hlds.exe depending whether or not you are running a dedicated or a listen server.

Just as a note, if your server is hosted on a LAN you CANNOT see your own server on the internet. Try adding your server via the "Add Server" button.

Usually if you run a server on 1 computer on a network, and try to find it on the same computer or from another computer from the same internet, same network, you have to join the server by the lan ip. When I run a server I get no auth servers parshed or whatever it is too, but after that it should say Connection To Steam Successful if its a dedicated server. And people can find my server on the list fine.. I'm behind a d-link 524 router, dsl, and a dynamic ip address. My ports are forwarded but even so, when I give my friends my ip address to join the server it wont work, so they find it on the server list and I find that my port for it will be something different than the ones that are supposed to be forwarded. Pm me and I can try to help with server problems.

to find out you ip just go to

http://www.whatismyip.com

youll find your router via 192.168.2.1 ...at least mines at that direction.

most routers are like that, except some numbers are different. mine is http://192.168.1.1/

And if you have a dynamic IP (i think its that one) your IP changes regurally. (I think its dynamic, correct me if im wrong)

My server doesn't show up either.

In the 'Console' area of my server thingy, it says:

No auth servers parsed
Disabling valve authentication
Adding master server 69.28.151.178:27010
Adding master server 207.173.177.11:27010
Connection to Steam servers successful.
