Okay, so I copyied the normal game (the one you play) into my dedicated server folder and started a game. I chose the map and the name of it. I could join it on LAN from my computer but my friend could not join it with the IP it gave me which was 192.168.1.106:27015. So do I have to put the server client into the dedicated server folder because I didn't do that, I just copied the normal game client into there. What do I need to do? I am really really confused. Also, I am running the dedicated server from my computer that recieves my internet through a wireless router. Linksys. Please Please help!

Install Zombie Panic to your dedicatedserver directory to host it as a dedicated server just as you install Zombie Panic to your halflife directory when you want to play it online. Also make sure you have both patches and confirm that the dedicated server isn't set to LAN.

All the correct files are in place now. I am on a router like I have said and I can connect to it through lan even though it is set for internet because I have a Wireless connection between these comps and the UDP i set it as is 27015 and i asked my friend to try to connect the the IP it gave me and also my computers IP with :27015 on the end and it didn't work. I can see a server named Captain Geech although it changes later when it realizes i dont want that name.... WHAT THE HELL DO I DO

My mistake, I didn't read the bit on the end about the wireless router. Seems like I remeber hearing about someone else having trouble with their router. Let me see if I can find the message.

Edit:
I'll keep adding links here as I find them.

Maybe one of those will help.

Make sure you have sv_lan set to 0 (sv_lan 0 in your dedicated server\zp\server.cfg). login to your wireless router and forward port 27015 to the local ip of your server. open up an internet browser and go to www.whatismyip.com - that will give you the public ip address that your router is holding. people need to connect to that ip address, then if you have the port forwarding setup properly your router will automagically connect them to your server.

can a mod move this thread to the server forum please?
