Since I've noticed people asking about it, I'll release some of my private work. Crosshairs that I have made. Enjoy

Photo examples included along with crosshairs.
Example 1 (http://zpvl.ath.cx/images/crosshair/crs2.jpg) Example 2 (http://zpvl.ath.cx/images/crosshair/crs5.jpg) Example 3 (http://zpvl.ath.cx/images/crosshair/crs9.jpg) Example 4 (http://zpvl.ath.cx/images/crosshair/magnum.jpg) Example 5 (http://zpvl.ath.cx/images/crosshair/AR15.jpg)

You can download the crosshairs here (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18749164/files/crosshairs.rar).

If you want to change the color of your crosshair:
You have to convert Zombie Panic: Source into a sourcemod. (http://www.fpsbanana.com/tuts/8075) *NOTE: You do not have to convert ZPS if you don't want to change the color.* Do as the guide tells you then you'll be ready to continue below to change the color of your crosshair.

To change the color of your crosshair, you have to edit the ClientScheme.res file.
1. Go to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\zps\resource\
2. Open up the ClientScheme.res file with notepad, hit Ctrl+F and search for 'HL1-style HUD colors'.

This is the line you want to edit:
"Normal" "255 208 64 255"You want to change '255 208 64 255'. the first set of numbers is the amount of red, second set is the amount of green, third set is the amount of blue, and the fourth set is its opacity. Maximum value for each is 255.
You can use paint to choose a color, or go to this website (http://www.2createawebsite.com/build/hex-colors.html) to get your color. Just select your color in the box, then use the number to the right of the color. After you've finished, make sure to save it.

3. Right-click Clientscheme.res, then select Properties. Make sure the box labeled Read-Only is checked and hit Apply, then Ok.

How to install crosshairs:

For non-sourcemod:
1. Go to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\youraccount\zombie panic! source\hl2\resource\
2. Find whichever crosshair you would like to use and copy the halflife2.ttf file and paste it in the resource folder.
3. Right-click on halflife2.tff and select Properties. Make sure that the box labeled Read-Only is checked and hit Apply, then Ok.

For sourcemod:
1. Go to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\zps\resource\
2. Find whichever crosshair you would like to use and copy the halflife2.ttf file and paste it in the resource folder.
3. Right-click on halflife2.tff and select Properties. Make sure that the box labeled Read-Only is checked and hit Apply, then Ok.

Where abouts in the ClientScheme.res? Oh and if your modifying that file, wouldn't you have to run the game in mod mode due to the ClientScheme being in the gcf meaning you can't overwrite it via placing your modified one in your zps folder?

Hello i just recently downloaded steam and i have the orange box and have not played half life yet i just went straight to download ZPS and started playing that, but i have a problem.

When i play ZPS i do not have a corsshair or even a dot as to where i shoot, whether or not this is because i have not played HL yet i dont know but i feel it is highly unlikely as it should already be in the config or files or something lol.

if anyone can reply to this with a suggestion as to how i can get my crosshair up i would be greatful.

P.S i have tryed downloading a crosshair and placing it in the resources folder and yet still nothing. :(

I think you do need to install HL2 that way the game can find those files :) (look at first post it kind of says that)

^Exactly what he says.

Source Mods take bits and pieces from all over the place in the steam apps folder)...

I noticed that you can't even map for games unless you started them up once too...

If your problem has still gone unsolved then make sure you have Source SDK Base downloaded under steam tools. And just for safe measures, start up ZPS and open up the console (the ~ key), then type "cl_crosshair 1".
I don't guarantee that it'll work though.

I don't think the devs honestly want you not to use custom content the problem is that they are working really hard on the new gamemode and other things and don't have the time to work on something minor like custom content. :)

Man, that solid red dot crosshair is perfect but it needs to be about half of the size it is. Can you shrink it down a bit and post it? Buddy ol' pal :D

I wish there was a way to keep the crosshair enabled even as zombie. Helps track where you're smacking on boards better :)

Actually sometimes (and im assuming its a bug, a very minor bug) the crosshair is still there even after you turn into a zombie
