this is a guide that will help new players:
A.Game Basics:
1.Zombies And Infection:
there are 2 types of zombie - Whitey and normal zombie.
the whitey is like the boss zombie and hes the carrier of the infectation which means he can infect other survivors.whitey is easy to identefy.he wears only torn pants and hes body is completly white.
the normal zombie is a survivor who died while playing and became a zombie.
when youre infected by the whitey you will notice that your HP sign will change.normaly the sign is +.after the infection he will change with the time and will become like 3 dots.while infected you notice the screen becomes a bit darker sometimes and that your hearing is blurry a bit.
2.Survivors:
there are 4 survivors skins - Citizen,Cop,Punk,A Woman(sry didnt knew how to call her..).all of the survivors can carry the same weapons and basicly there is no diffrance at all between the survivors, its just diffrent voice and look.
B.Weapons:
1.Weapon Types:
there is 5 types of weapons - melee, pistols, rifle, shotguns, granades.
the melee weapon is the most useless weapon but it comes handy some times.the melee is like the final resort against zombies.its also usefull for braking stuff.pistols are sometimes weak but they can kill zombies pretty easly and theyre ammo is light.rifles are very strong but they run out of ammo really fast but they are usefull for all of ranges(close, mid, far).shotguns are the strongest weapons and the most usefull weapons on close range but they have slow reload and theyre ammo is heavy.granades are strong but hard to kill with cuz zombies are fast and the granade blows up after few seconds and in that time zombie can just run away.
i didnt made a guide for barricading cuz i kinda suck at this.sry if my english is bad.
hope i helped some one.
now go out there and kick some zombie ~~~~~ and try to not end up like this guy

"The melee weapon is the most useless one"
I beg to differ.

If you know how to wield a melee, itīs more than useful against zombies.
:zombo: << Guns are not always the answer.

Yea. I *always* carry a melee weapon. Getting attacked by more than one zombie, there might not always be enough bullets to finish off the zombies. But shooting them, then finishing off any surviving ones with a melee weapon is a life-saver.
A zombie gets in my face, I'd much rather have a melee weapon than a pistol for a back up weapon.

Yeah it's funny how many times a survivor will win using his melee.
Most zombies that see that awesome opportunity to get a survivor only bearing a melee get far too excited. They usually hold their attack button down missing the majority of their claw hits. In this frazzling excitement they tend to run around in circles clawing nothing but air and loosing track of where you actually are.
If you put them on low heath with a pistol it's even easier to get that one hit knockout, which is so satisfying.
I've only just recently got into close combat after discovering the melees power (even the keyboard can hold up). It's all about being offensive with it whilst attacking and then defensive after attacking meaning the zombie gets smacked in the head and you back off in a quick fashion only to do the same again.
In group situations when other survivors are letting their lead loose, it's almost impossible for that zombie to kill you.

Yea. I *always* carry a melee weapon.
Please don't... I mean, I totally agree: certain melee weapons can be great. But please, don't carry any when you've got a good gun. Back it up with a pistol for all I care. Melee weapon is for the last stand, for when you are out of ammo. In that case use the Sledgehammer or the Machete, those are my personal favourites. But also check out the stats that are given about melee weapons. There you can find which ones deal the most DPS and more important info..

Sorry if I break your heart by saying this, but there is no way in hell that I'm going to stop using a melee weapon.
And no, I don't "only" use melee weapons when I'm out of ammo.
Shoot a zombie once or twice in the head and he's still coming? I give him a nice whack to the head with the frying pan and he's gone. No need to bothering wasting more ammo on him if he's already next-to-dead.
I'm going to repeat myself from my first post, but you obviously didn't read the full post, only the first sentence. When getting attacked by more than one zombies I'll probably be able to take down 2 or 3, (unless I slip up), By that time a zombie would already be up in my face.
Now I don't know about you, but it's hard for me to aim a pistol, when a zombie is running circles around me, clawing me to pieces. It's also kind of a lost cause to reload my primary weapon when the zombie is two inches from my face.
It's much safer (and easier) for me to pull out a melee weapon and fight fire with fire. Nice reversal. Now I have *them* running in circle trying to fine me while I beat them to death.
When I ask for tips, I'll ask for them. Please don't try to correct my way of gameplay.
I find it offense, you trying to tell me how to play. Like I don't already know... Jesus...

Im gonna give you a tip, although you didnt ask for it: always take tips, also when you dont ask for it. Cause it's lazy to think you already got all the knowledge in your grasp.
People can always come up with good advise, take it or leave it. It's a free world.
Getting back to the subject. Melee weapons slow you down, plus, and this differs per kind of melee weapon, you have to get close. Thus increasing the percentage of getting hit. Especially in situations you only got 25 (or in carrier case 30) hp you cannot afford something like that.
Is the zombie really that close? Toggle to pistol and use panic at same time. This should increase the distance, thus giving you the chance to shoot the zombie.
Besides, if you are really out of ammo there are tons of melee weapons still around. If you really need one there is always one rather close to your position. Why carry one with you all the time and be slown down by it?
You dont have to stop using melee weapons. I respect ones choice of play. Though, consider it, and dont be an old conservative that just wont stand open for any new things. But hey, thats also up to you.

It's not "any new things". I've been playing Zombie Panic since ZP:HL. I've had *years* to perfect how I play. I've tried everything
If you want to discuss *my* strategies talk here http://www.zombiepanic.org/forums/showthread.php?t=12907 instead of in someone else's thread.

And Ronaldinho and Torres have played football for years, but that doesnt mean they learn something every day.
But if you really believe that your kind of play is the one and only sacred perfect way of play, then go ahead and keep playing like you are now.
Since you posted a certain tactic in this thread I am allowed to respond at it.

No, really. I want to see what you think. You've posted on all of the half-assed and incomplete strategies. I want to see what you think of complete one.

Cheers. I've posted on your tactic.
You've posted on all of the half-assed and incomplete strategies.
By the way, not very friendly to call the other tactics half-assed. On every point in a strategy you can tell people about weakpoints..
