which program did you use because all the programs I find are not for hl2 that are for free.

Nice! Are you planning to make the model interactive? Like doors and back openable? Because that would be a really handy extra when it comes to those objective maps..
Oh and bobop, a free program you can use for HL2 modelling is XSI Mod Tool.

Models would help so much in making things for my maps more then just objective maps.

its a pain to use I cant even get it to compile the model into a model it just saves as a file that cant be loaded as a model

Any chance you can get the developers to accept this model? That's how good I think it is :). Just refine it more and it'd be perfect.

aint worked on this in a while, just need to texture the interior and add some extra dirt to the diffuse,
ive been working on this guy instead.
heres a scribbled ortho

i was playing around with some RT shaders today, still havent textured the interior and i left the uv overlay on last time i was texturing so the wheels have marks on them
http://upload.bjornpetersson.com/3dmm/pic5.jpg
its got Diffuse, normal, specular, reflection, gloss, ambient occlusion, and two cubemaps,
the gloss map is just the diffuse greyscaled and i just used a high pass filter to make the ambient occlusion.
the shader i used also has a glow map section so you can make decent looking self illumination, i might try it on the brake lights or something.

Looking cool so far. Keep working on it. You might want to add some dirt and debris to the wheels and sides to make it more realistic and 'used'. Unless this model is planned to be put in a car emporium.

i was planning on doing that itll only take like five minutes to add dirt to it

6.5k Tri's for a car is way over budget. There is a lot of un-neccesary detail in the mesh which could be solved with normal maps, and also just plain optimisation.

no its not my triangle budget was 9000 so i added in detail, the later meshes are optimised and im still over 2k under the limit, when i create a damaged version im going to up the polycount to match the brief.
i cant just make a bunch of flat sides with normals or the model will look incredibly boring

ive got some new stuff to show,
http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/6449/pic6so4.th.jpg (http://img206.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pic6so4.jpg)
had a go at mudbox and high poly stuff, this was the result so far, the diffuse are just flat colours with a normal map and ambient occlusion, i used that RT shader with coloured lights again.
hands look rubbish in this screen, oh well hes supposed to be wearing gloves anyway.

face is ~~~~ but thats what happens when you dont model stuff especially for mudbox sculpting. at least all the shaders work
