Qloos' General Zombie Guide
As a zombie this is your list of priorities, from most important to least important.
Kill humans
Injure Humans
Inform team-mates of human whereabouts
Hide human weapons and ammo
Waste human ammo, (get shot and retreat to regenerate)
De-barricade
Don't die
Part 1: Killing humans
Before we begin, take note of these simple rules:
A human is more powerful that a zombie in a head to head situation.
A human that has his back to the wall is alot easier to kill.
A human that doesn't know you're there is ALOT more easier to kill.
You need to move fast in the early game to increase your zombie numbers before the humans get situated into a hard to get at nook of the map with a stockpile of ammo.
If a human sees you from 50 feet away, don't bother going after him. Go down a different path and attack someone else. The human will either kill you or run away. You're wasting your precious time, allowing humans to get their guns.
If a human sees you from a lunge distance away with his back against the wall, attack him. But make ???? sure you're dodging on the way towards him. In fact. . . make sure you're dodging whenever a human has a gun pointed at you. Otherwise he'll gat you down with 7 bullets no problem and you'll miss the kill.
Although a human is more powerful one versus one, a cluster (not a group.) of humans with pistols is an easy mark. Now when I mean cluster I don't just mean there are alot of humans. I mean there are alot of humans stepping on each others shins in a tight formation. The humans in front wont be able to backup past the guy behind him. The guy behind him wont be able to get a shot past his fat head. Its a delicious situation. Once you've eaten the first guy there'll be a 2nd guy behind him who just wasted his ammo. A cluster of humans is absolutely great for the carrier as hitting multiple humans increases the chances of infection. . . and even if it doesn't: It causes paranoia of infection.
The last target of opportunity is a human with his back to you. Don't make a sound. Don't lunge to increase the distance as that will give you away. Patiently keep following him until you're able to claw him. You'll get two swipes in before he'll be able to turn around. He'll start to open fire but it'll probably be too late unless he has a rifle.
Killing humans is always easier in a group, but the same rules apply. 4 humans in the late game against the hoard, distance will whittle you down. You get close: They run. Same principles apply. Fan out and come from every direction at once. All players in ZPSource are cursed with tunnel vision, capitalize on it!
