Dont exactly knwo if this is right section but it seems relevant.

So yea basically im learning to animate. Learning on css rigs which might be a problem seeing as its completely different i think? i dunno lol

Doign it so I can add custom animations to either defaults ports or my own models for future releases. Seeing as zps uses Hl2mp or dm animations. <i think

But this is what ive tried not the best but got to start some where.

(If any of the animators on the dev team can give me some pointers please do ^^)

On the right Hand when he tilts the knife i forgot to select the arm on rotation so its stil and only wrist moves :D LOL

I want to animate, custom melee attacks would be sweet.

Yeah, most css rigs are full IK whereas the ZP rig is only partially IK and uses the broken-mesh technique instead of the bones-only technique. They're similar but still different.

Just decompile any of our models and you can animate them however you want, though it's preferred you just practice on your own models.

On that note, the animation is bad, but the left hand seems very unnatural.

Haha yeah, it reminds me of the MP5 in ZPS :-P

bring the left arm up closer to the chest and bottom of screen, you dont need to show all of it.

as for the knife twiddling, you need to have it slow down before it stops so its not stopping so suddenly, think of all movement as being in a circle rather than a line, if movement is linear it will look robotic and unnatural.

move the left arm up and down a little to when the wrist is turning, you should never have un-moving parts in that kind of point of view or it looks robotic again.

if you want to make sure movements are correct, then re-enact them with your own body and see how you move when holding a knife and walking around your room.
then try and translate that to your animation.

That isn't a rig you dumbass, you'd get a boneweighted mesh. Not quite the rig we used is it? I can probably provide the rig (if I get permission) however I'd strongly recommend continuing to use that css rig to learn on, as theres a 95% chance it's a better rig than the one we've been using.
