This is my first guide, I am open to debate on weapons. However as much as I love being flamed out of my mind I really don't

PISTOLS
Unless you join late you will have either a glock (18c or 17) or a USP and an extra 10 ammo for the any pistols. DO NOT DROP THIS, the ammo and pistol may slow you down a little but not too much. People who drop everything in the hope that a good gun will have spawned where they think it has are usually the first one to die. I will now rate all of them indiviually.

Glock (18c/17)
Rate Of Fire: Medium Slow
Damage: Medium
Ammo in Clip: Medium High (17)

USP
Rate Of Fire: Medium
Damage Medium
Ammo in Clip Medium (15)

PPK
Rate Of Fire: Medium High
Damage: Medium
Ammo in Clip: Poor (7)

Notes on Pistols.
The PPK is your most odd pistol. It has 7 bullets in a clip therefore not making it terribly useful for shakey hands (like me usually) or newbies. If you are experienced and want a challenge use this pistol, and aim all for the head, hopefully this should kill off that zombie. If you miss however switch to your primary weapon and panic this should give you a boost of speed to get some distance before you turn around and slot it with your primary weapon. Never disrigard a pistol as a 'Bad' gun, they are light and they can be very powerful if you aim for the head. Many a time have I been stuck in my barricades with a rifle and a pistol and found the pistol was most useful for sniping and even when they over ran the barricades. PISTOLS ARE VERY USEFUL BUT YOU MUST AIM FOR THE HEAD TO GET MAXIMUM USAGE OUT OF THEM! Pistols get a 6/10

SHOTGUNS
Shotguns are an okay weapon but it does depend which one you get. The lighter more rubbish Super Shorty has got its issues. I will go straight onto the ranking

Remmy
Rate Of Fire: Poor (as to be expected with a shotty)
Damage: High (even higher if you aim for the head)
Ammo In Clip: Poor (6) (although great for a shotgun)

Super Shorty
Rate OF Fire: Poor (see above)
Damage: High (see above)
Ammo In Clip: EPIC FAIL (3)

Notes On Shotties. The Super Shorty is the only weapon I am dissapointed to find. The availability of shotty ammo on most maps make the shotties generally good but the 3 shells in a clip? This means all 3 of these shots will have to go through a average zombies chest to even kill it, 2 for the head (which is actually difficult) and 2 if the Zombies in eating distance. The Remmy is a very good gun, it is vastly supieror to the Shorty as it has a much higher ammo in clip, this allows it to be fire 3 times to the chest of a Zombie and leaves room for missing. Aiming for the head is really good to do as it kills most zombies in 2 shots. TIP FOR SHOTTIES: Use a pistol on a zombie if it is down a corridoor, fire a couple of shots for the head then switch to your shotty (either will do) and shoot him once or twice in the chest to kill him (once in the head). Remmy Rating 7/10 Super Shorty Rating 2/10

I will Be Writing soon about Rifles, Grenades and Melee weapons.

RIFLES[U]
There is a huge difference between the MP5 and the AK-47. This is really to do with how much ammo you have left, how good you are at sniping, and how steady you are under zombie attack. ( I will add another factor to my rating for the rifles as it is a real problem for them 'Recoil')

MP5
Rate of Fire: High
Damage: High
Recoil: Medium
Ammo In Clip: Very High (30)

AK-47
Rate of Fire: Very High
Damage: High
Recoil: Very High
Ammo In Clip: Very High (30)

Notes On Rifles: The MP5 is my personal favourite as I can actually aim with this one, I usually (unless under imediate threat) fire in bursts of 3 and aim for the head, this does a lot of damage very quickly. However if the zombies overrun your barricades just go full auto on the zombies heads, better alive and with little ammo then being living dead with lots of ammo. The Ak-47 is not my favourite rifle, it has far to much recoil to snipe with it and you will either have to use a pistol or a magnum for your sniping. The Ak is better for defending your barricaded as it fires faster and for more damage. Ak-47 6/10 MP5 9/10

[U]GRENADES
The Grenade can not be used as a main weapon, it is not in pleantiful supply in most maps and have limited usage.

Grenade
Rate Of Fire: N/A
Damage: Highest
Ammo In Clip: N/A

Notes On Grenades: You mainly need to use grenades on choke points such as doors and coridoors when zombies are trying to destroy your barricade. When you are running away from zombies throw a grenade down where you stand then run off depending on how far the zombies were behind you they will get caught in the blast and either get killed or badly wounded. Finish off the straglers with your main or secondary weapon. Grenades could not be rated as they are so very hard to use and can be lifesavers of life takers (throw one down too close to you and you will be killed).

Melee
I will rate melee in 3 different groups fast hitters, Mediums and Slow hitters.

Fast Hitters:
Rate Of Fire: High
Damage: Poor
Ammo In Clip: N/A
Reach: Poor

Mediums:
Rate of Fire:Medium
Damage: Medium
Ammo In Clip: N/A
Reach: Medium Poor

Slow Hitters:
Rate Of Fire: Poor
Damage: High
Ammo In Clip: N/A
Reach: High

Notes On Melee Weapons: Fast Hitters are effectivly worthless, they include the keyboard, Pan, hammer and the Floor Board. Mediums are useful but only on the move they include the Spanner, metal X thing (what is this btw?) and the crowbar. The Spanner is my favourite weapon because of its perfect balance of damage and rate of fire. Slow Hitters are the most useful as you can hit zombies behind your barricade. They include Spades, chairs and the golf club. When you try to hit a zombie behind your barricade run up to it and attack and move back, repeat this process until it is dead. When assulting a Zombie with a medium never walk in a straight line, circle round him and hit him, randomly change direction but do it quickly and with skill. Fast Hitters 1/10 Mediums 5/10 Slow hitters 6/10

Magnum:
My personal favourite gun.

Magnum:
Rate Of Fire: Medium
Damage: Medium (If aimed for the body) EPIC WIN (If aimed for the head)
Bullets In Clip: Poor (6)
Recoil: High

Notes On Magnum: Give your magnum away if you are a lousy shot. Always aim for the head if you cant do that then just drop it and keep practising. The White Zombie has 250 HP he can take on magnum to the brain so fire once in his head and then in his chest. Zombie show their head the most when they are trying to knock down your barricades slot them then.
Magnum gets a 9.5/10!

I will Edit this if people disagree then I find reason in their point, but bear in mind this is my own guide with my own oppinions, don't flame just explain wha you mean.

Your information on rate of fire shows you didn't do your homework..

Theres already a thread with much more in-depth detail on all the guns.

Also things like 'aim for the head with the magnum' are basic things everyone should already know if they've picked one up.

Yeah maybe I didn't go on a server and act like a ???? just to see what weapons would fire just that bit faster. Forget the rankings this is just for newbies to know about the feel of every gun.

There might be a thread there already, but some people look past the pinned topics (guilty :P ). This is a basic, well written guide that can be read through quickly. I never knew about the damage difference among similar weapons, I just always preferred the Glock over the PPK due to the ammunition difference.

And you forgot to mention that grenades are the epic killer suicides which can take zombies with you :P

technically the dmg is incorrect for handguns and rifles, MP5, AK, Glock, USP, and PPK do exactly the same dmg when aiming for the head, as the least amount of ammo wasted to make one kill is only 5 shots, only thing that differs from all of them is rate of fire, weight, and accuracy, and for rifles recoil

AK47 does more damage than the pistols/mp5 as of 1.25b.

Yup... thats what I wrote down. Can everyone stop yelling at me? This is my first guide and its for noobs. Why are playtesters reading it? This is a guide for people to just get the feel for each gun not know the tiny differences and be able to quote them backwards through a straw.

Actually all the pistols do the same damage, so is the shotguns.

The ak is more powerful then the mp5 and the mp5 has a higher rate of fire.

Sorry KilroyNZ.... I am just a little annoyed that people are more interested in little differences between what they think and what I think rather then the weapon tactics I have put down. BTW all those tactics are tried and tested, they all work.

Yeah all good Eagle, happens to me all the time.

Yea I think the AK does between 23-25 damage to a zombie (non headshot).

Good guide btw.
