THE WORLD Roleplay

For starters:


This isnt a roleplay based on zombies.

Now that thats outa' the way... This RP is about the world, as you may of gathered from the title. You dont control a character, but you control a whole COUNTRY. It starts in 1900, and the entire course of history shall be played out, altered, etc. Battles will be fought via a vote, which will last half a day. The vote desides how many troops are lost and who wins. . Each country starts with 100,000 troops, and that number will go up year (day). Any country in the world is open for play (apart from Russia, which I have taken.) More than one person may control a country. The UN, or a form of it may be started at anytime. The RP will go on for aslong as it stays alive, and tech' advances will be noted by me.
Each country starts with $10m, and it costs money to upgrade tech. (tech advancments wll be handed out by me) As with army size, money will increase each day (year).

So basicly, this is like Civ/total war, but text-based and forumised.

The worlds first face lift happens in Germany. Congrats to Seb, you gain a tech point (1 in total).
The Royal Navy (UK) launches its first submarine. The NPC UK gets a Tech Point (1 total)
The Russian leader , Joseph Zdolyny has invaded Estonia, with 2000 men, and 400 Cavelry units.(including himself) . The battle must be resovled with someone that isnt me. Do the coin thing. Estonia retaliates with 1500 men and 500 Cav' units. (These troops have 1 shot rifles.) ((Cav' units have swords and 6-shot revolvers)

Each country has an Income of $20,000. The next Tech Point will cost: $500,000 and is the Steam powered Areoplane.
Navies may now be built, at a cost of $9,000 per battelship.
Each ship takes 1 year to be made.
Each country had 1000 men sign up for the armed forces. Each country had 500 men sign up for the mounted forces.
Morale in Germany, the UK and Russia grows. Morale in Estonia weakens, due to a HUGE FREAKING ARMY IN THEIR COUNTRY!

Poland sends in 2,000 regulars into Estonia to combat the spread of Communism.

Adam Waclaw has purchased a new battleship for the beginning of a navy. It is sent to help prevent the flow of more troops form the Netherlands (and Germany, should they try and get into this conflict) into Estonia. Half of the 2,000 Polish troops sent in are stationed on the Eastern border of Estonia to help stem the flow of Russian troops.

The vast majority of Polish troops are stationed along the German-Polish border, in case of a German offensive.

War is declared between Russia and Poland, Estonia.

Russia buys 2 Battleships,a battle is to take place tomorrow between Russian and Estonian forces. The NPC Latvia sends 500 troops into Estonia for unknown reasons.

Poland buys one extra battleship and intends to send it along the western coast of Estonia, with the other once construction is complete. 1,000 more troops are sent to Estonia. Estonian forces are further trained by Poland's and the Polish troops are welcomed with open arms to help fight back Communsim.

Russia sends 5000 more troops into Estonia and advances on the capital.
A treaty is signed stating the Estonian wars man only be fought IN Estonia. Any country wishing to join this war must abide by the treaty. Russia builds 5 howitzers and sends them to the army in Estonia.


!RULES ANNOUNCEMENT!

If a nation is completely destroyed (eg capital is taken), they can become a Vassal state, and it will take 5 years (days) for their military to regrow, in this time they can only have 1 battleship, 2 destroyers and 1 aircraft carrier (1916+).
All countries may now build Artillery. A Siege on a city cannot happen unles the attacking army has cannons or some form of artillery. You may only make 5 artillery units per year.

The starting money is now $10million, as I think Billion was a bit too much :P.

The grand russian Army is composed of:

75 men in the kings guard ( Cav', they carry rifles)

5 Howitzers.

The battle shall be resolved tomorrow, and we need someone to flip the coin, as this is a fairly balenced battle.

There are 300 cav units surviving the battles with the troops from the Netherlands.

No naval units of the time period can fire so far in as Talinn, so the ground forces (both sides) are safe from naval bombardment.

Keep in mind, however that my forces are defending a position, and yours are advancing. That gives my side an edge of sorts.

Rasputin Zhivago enters Russian homeland to discuss a treaty of peace and friendship between Russia and Germany. Rasputin Zhivago increases military spending on the new idea of the Zepplin. (You need to tell me how much and how long it would take lordoss.) Rasputin also plans to spend money to increase Germany's troop count.

So in this round:

I want to find out how much money and how long it would take to research the basic zepplin. (Equipped only for low flying, it's primary function is Bombardment and scouting.)

I want to increase Military Spending to upgrade Military Troop equipment.

I have opened the idea of a peace Treaty with Russia.

(Am guessing the weapons research will cost 1 million.)

Country's leader declares war on NPC state of Liberia over resource dispute turned sour. Sends 1000 troops, 250 cavalry, to Liberian eastern border. 1 artillery unit(Basic type, I dunno the names) being built for $8,000(?), to be sent to front when it is ready.

Liberian gov't massing 1100 troops and 100 cavalry(Low horse amounts due to drought/etc so low horse counts in Liberia for cavalry use.) at 20 miles west of their western border, 100 miles from their capital.

Minor skirmishes among one or two platoons on either side break out as troops anxiously wait for further orders on both the Liberian and Egyptian sides of the battle. Order is resumed within an hour or so.......an equal yet small number of regular troops(not cav) lost on both sides.

Yes. I'm also building an artillery unit, as I took it from your post that they were unlocked and avialable for anyone to build now.

I was gonna research the advanced aircraft carrier with the normal one, but decided aginst it for now as money is tight, and the radar won't be needed yet anyways, until later maybe.

Tensions rise as Egypt's leader gives the signal to begin the attack, sending about 1/4th of the troops(including 1/4 cav.) at the Liberian border into the closest Liberian border town. The liberian general in response has sent 30% of their stationed troops into battle. Both sides should meet each other within the year(day).

[Bear in mind that this is a pre-battle, to gain ground, not the attack on the capital or any major city in Liberia.......so an artillery isn't needed as the first town is just a small one with no walls around it.]

It's LiBERIA, a small country on the Northwestern coast of Africa.....a free republic formed by freed slaves after the civil war I think. Lol. I'd show a map, but i'm too tired to download and post a pic.

It has lots of gold, and I think diamonds too. Egypt wants those resources to fill it's coffers, but Liberia won't sell them at a price Egypt thinks is fair, so Egypt has been trying to topple the gov't there for months through subterfuge campaigns and propaganda. Now it is turning to war.

Italy would benefit from a base in Liberia or being able to go through the country at will because of it's proximity to South/Central america and it's vast oil/rubber/etc resources.

I agree to the treaty if the following changes are made:

Italy would only get 1/4 of the Liberian treasury upon Liberia's capture, but would get stakes in the gold/diamond mines there, which produce sustained(Over at least the term of the entire game) amounts of wealth per year(2 mil or so per year would be your share of the mines, plus the 1/4 treasury at around 2.5 mil as a one time thing....making it 4.5 mil the first year to Italy).

Italy would conceed to allow access to the results of one of it's research projects, in exchange for the specs to it's aircraft carrier designs(regular and advanced)....say semi-automatic/automatic weaponry or medicine?

Also, Egypt agrees to allow transit by Italian troops through Liberia and it's ports once Liberia is captured(If captured), along with base building rights in that country.....though it would remain an Egyptian nation.

This year had a poor harvest .Eygpt, Germany and Italy's coffers have been updated with $6mil, Netherlands, Polands and Russia's with $2.5mil, due to the costs of war. Each country had a record 5000 men sign up for active duty. 500 were drafted into the cavarly.

Since I've realised the cost of special units, such as ships 'n stuff barely makes a dent in the players coffers,I've desided to form a system of market. E.g, whne lots of players are making Submarines, the prices will go up, if hardley anyone is buying them, they will go down. Also now most units cost $10,000 +, with some special 'super' units costing in the millions. Remember guys, I'm indending to change history with this RP. Imagine what it would be like today if Nixon hadnt cut NASA's budget back then. We could be on the moon eating pizzas.
A new aspect has been added to the game, supplies. Your troops can only travel to certian location outside of their own country. Having Trains, Armoured trains, ships and other methods around gives them a boost of supplies.

Research

The NPC USA has researched airplanes, and as a result can now build steam-powered gliders. This technology is unavalible untill you research airships, and then gliders.

Elitewolf - Researching Machine Guns and bolt rifles would set you back $3.5mil.
Harrier - Your prototype submarine is ready, and you can build more for $80,000 a piece.

A Polish historian has uncovered a book containing plans for a strange weapon. Futher news on this event will be given out when uncovered.

Next year, heavier than air flight shall become avalible.

The new technology, ''Armoured Trains'' is now avalible to all players. It costs $2mil to research and $40,000 to build after the prototype. The armoured train allows for swifter troop transport, better control over your subjects if you are a dictator, even bursts in morale. (I'm guessing waiting for the tube in London and seeing a huge train with guns and a giant union-flag on the the other side of the tracks is stirring stuff.)

Here are some plausible outcomes of The Battle for Talinn
(fight between me and Lordloss over Estonia).

Russia wins, however they lose 3/4 of their force due to shoddy tactics (rush that MG position!!). 1 Russian battleship is sunk and the other is in dire need of repairs.
The Capitalist Estonian Government has been overthrown, replaced by a Communist puppet. Estonian restistance forces kill 100 occupying Russians a day until enough troops are there to bring order. 1,500 Polish soldiers are killed during the fight, and 500 are taken prisoner. The remaining 500 Polish troops flee back to their home country.

OR

Poland wins, 5/6 of the Russian force is killed due to their commander's egos and shoddy tactics. Both Russkie ships are sunk, and 1 polish ship is sunk. 1/3 of the combined Polish/Estonian force is killed in the fight, leaving 2,000 Polish soldiers and 3,000 Estonians alive. The Russians make a steady retreat.

Communist Leader Rasputin Zhivago recovers from wounds he recieved in an attempted Assasination. He addressed his people via radio about the issues of the Poland/ Germany Border. Promising that it would protect it's people. Germany's relations with Poland have gone from Good to Neutral. 1000 Zepplins equipped with bombing equipment are nearly completed in the German capital of Berlin.

Rasputin has also addressed matters concerning the French capital Paris. In a statement read today by Military Leader Ruskev Yske Rasputin outlined plans to defend it's border with Armoured vehicles and Submarines.

German weapons experts continue to research new weapondry options and armoring for troops and vehicles. Could Germany be on the brink of a war? Only time will tell.

Heavier than Air flight is now avalible. It shall cost $6 mil to research.After that, it costs $2mil to research attack bi-planes, bombers and fighter-bombers. Each.

Destroyers are now avalible. They are the only defence against submarines, apart from other submarines. They cost $30,000 a pop.

Japan and Russia creates the EAA (Euro-Asian Alliance) together and discusses its future. All European and Asian countries can join but only if invited.

The EAA has bought 30,000 troops with cannons, cavalary and lancers off various mercenaries, 30 zeps including 3 of Japans new carrierzeps, 2 armoured trains and 5MG teams.

Since the battle was lost (by a biased coin-flip). Adam Waclaw's military has low morale. To right this and to recieve extra funds, he proposes that war be made upon former Germany. The Polish legislation agrees, and 7,000 Polish troops mobilize. Poland should win this one because Germany is in a fractured chaos of sorts. Polish troops make use of new machine guns and semi-automatic rifles in dealing with various Communist German factions.

Italy sends 10,000 troops via ship to Egypt for the war effort.

Italy sends an additional 10,000 troops to Germany to help Poland form a new government in Germany.

After a sorry defeat, the citizens of Poland feel it is their duty to uptain their countries honor. Thousands join up for the military, with almost a fanatical vigour. The number is estimated at 20,000, but the numbers are still growing. Some of the German Mercenaries have banded together in a rag-tag army to resist the invading armies. They have 4000 foot soldiers, and 40 zepplins.
With Estonia under it's belt, the battered lands of Russia set its eyes on Pershia (Now Iran) and China. Heavier than air flight is ready, and Russia builds 40 fighter-bombers at a cost of $2mil.


Research

Catapiller Tracks are now avalible at $1.5mil. They are required for the later research of IFVs, APCs, Tankettes and the classic Tank.#
AA and AG guns are now avalible. They are required to research AA missiles in later years. They cost $3 mil each to reaseach, and all your cities will be equipped with them automatically once research is done. Takes 1 year.

The coin was flipped, Infernal chose tails, fate chose heads. As a result I threw the 2p coin out of the window. It hit a car.


The Japanese lost fully half of their forces, and the Koreans, although putting uo a brave fight, lost 3/4s. The Japanese return to the landing craft to re-think their stratagy, and call in replacements.

Each country made only $1.5 mil, a dissapointing income. A recruitment drive is taking place in Russia, as this year only 600 men joined up. An estimated 1000 men have been conscripted so far. In the other countries 3000 men have joined up, 1000 were put into cavalry units.

EGYPT

Egypt has built 3 aircraft carriers(advanced) since last post, at a total cost of 1 mil each(3 mil), plus a number of squadrons for each carrier(wing squadrons, which can carry harnessed troops(3 per wing) who can also drop small bombs from low altitude.(Wings total 36 for all carriers, at a cost of I'm guessing 1.5 mil total to build)

3 squadrons of 4 wings each per squadron per carrier.

2 carriers of wings have been moved through the mediterranean and to the southwestern/southern border of Liberia, in the atlantic ocean. The artillery I built is on the Eastern border 30 miles inside Liberia and is set to bomb the capital.

Italy's troops form the first major attack wave and enter central Liberia and capture a gold/diamond mine complex......which is deeded to them upon war's end by Egypt.

My troops have been increased inside the Eastern border of Liberia from 1000 regulars and 250 cav. to 2000 regulars and 600 cav. total. 5,000 italian troops are left at the western border of Liberia and sent towards the southern/eastern border to secure it for my carrier's arrival, and to cut off Liberian leadership escape by water. 1,000 italian troops from the remaining number guard the new mines in liberia that they now control, and the remaining 4,000 march towards the capital.

Coin flip is needed, or vote, I think.

Factors: Liberia is beset by my 2600(600 cav) troops heading towards it's capital and setting up an artillery unit 50 miles from the capital for combardment, along with almost 4,000 of italy's troops.

2500 of italy's troops are going to the eastern/southern areas of Liberia to block off the water route of escape for Lliberian forces, and another 2,500 guard the western border of Liberia.

Liberia has amassed most of it's standing army around/in it's capital, 6,000 regulars and 600 cav.(Poor horse counts due to drought/famine/etc...one of those), as well as almost 1,000 civilian volunteers.


I also have two carriers carrying fighter wings/gliders, 24 gliders in all with 3 men on each, on the water border at the SW border of Liberia as well.
