Best place for survivors will be the Stage.

Worst place for survivors will be the basement (where the security room is at.)

As usual the most ammo and guns are stored, where it is the most dangerous for the survivors.

Map inspired by the one map included to the "Land of the dead"-Singleplayer Demo.

Status is at 25%.

50% status will be reached in about 5 days.

I love the lighting it looks really nice.

On the first picture there is a woodden thing on the ceiling, is that leading to a window?

Because if it is have one zombie spawn there and then pop down thrugh the window, it would look cool.

Keep it up!

Yeah I was thinking of duke nukem 3d too! =D

Make it look a little more chaos in there, then it will be cool.

You need to improve on some areas brush work, the transition from Wall - Roof are really blocky.

The lighting needs some serious work.

Jez,
I can't see why it would need "serious" work but definately touch it up a bit. No need to be critical I've yet to see a map where I didn't think the lighting needed some work but Damage's map is far from bad. I agree with Yokai that the textures also need some work. Look forward to seeing more.

P.S. What's with the casino machines? Does it fit somehow? (not familiar with the location)

Maybe your post would make more sense if you actually tell why the lighting is bad.

casino machines are just there to make my day while I test the map !
I have such a sad live, and there is no casino in my neighbourhood - so please don`t destroy my dreams of having fun with casino machines while maptesting.
They will probably be replaced when I am at 100% status.

by the way 50% status reached as said. 100% should be done in about two up to six weeks.

The lightning actually sucks.
THATS allright - I will work on that. I also have problems with the Props (some don`t appear while I have them set as prop_static`s ).

Damage,
Hey enjoy your map in whatever fashion you like but yeh at 100% it would be nice to ditch all but one and create a secret room for it for nostalgia.

looks good. I've seen some of your other maps and I have to say you do a very good job with them. I don't see a problem with the lighting on this map, I mean with everything theres room for improvement, but that doesnt mean it's necessary. Lighting does play a big part in mapping but its not crucial. A well laid out design with everything to scale is really all you do need. The best thing you can do is just work on it in chunks, sometimes when you step away from it you realize something you can do to improve the map without over doing it. I recently had to cut off a hallway and made a way around to prevent the engine from drawing too much at once. You're a slightly better mapper than I am and I'm sure have more time than I do to put into it. I've noticed the more you do mess with the editor the better you get with it. 6 weeks is a long time to put into a map. I mean hell, I've spent 40+hrs on mine and i've JUST got done the basic structures and put it lighting, no models or props, just light spots. Have you play tested your maps with more than just yourself yet? It's always a good idea to see how it handles having more than one person.

Its actualy good that your enjoying your mapping and that is something that I lack. I dont have enough fun when mapping the map I am currently making. At first it seemed really fun but now I have just moved on. It seems as if I cant map as well If im not interested in the project too. Kinda odd eh?

anyway, hope to see some more screens :o Honestly, custom maps arent bad if they arent the best in the world, aslong as they are not just giant blocks squished together.

props are fussy so it takes some time to get the hang of which models go with which prop types. As was mentioned to me, examine how valve does their stuff and remember you can always copy and paste their props, that way you know they'll work.
