So i am making a map based around an urban environment and i want to implement something.
I want the roads to have displacement weed, grass and other folliage.
Let me note that i tried to put a grass displacement under my road but that has been ineffective.
Your help will be apriciated.

Look into the vmt file there should be a keyvalue you can add that adds those things

A little more specific please.
I cannot find the vmt file in SourceSdk_content/Mapsrc/ and the only way i can see as of right now is to convert the WAD file into a VMT
Ps:Just realised that i should have posted this on the Sub Category of Troubleshooting.
Ima post the semi finished product on the Stickied Mapping thread.

Is the texture in question a default HL2 texture?

Yes it is.The map im making uses HL2 Textures only.

Use GFCscape to extract the HL2 material you want. You will have to rename it from the original and pack it into the .bsp when you're done with the map.
Find a texture editing tutorial to see how to add grass detail models.
I know how to do textures like this, but I can't tell you how off the top of my head.

Thanks JB but now another problem arises.
The skybox lighting doesnt work.
The map is lighted the same through out the map. This didnt happen before.
The skybox changes when i change it in the map properties but the lighting, pitch, ambience dont work in game.

Strange. Has anything changed? It's possible that you've added a dodgy texture or model. This could include some funky skybox texture.
Then again, I'm no expert on the mercurial functionings of the Source engine.
Just see if you can delete anything you added between the lighting working and it not working. That should fix it up, so you can narrow down the cause.

Have you properly setup the light_enviroment entity?

Have you properly setup the light_enviroment entity?
Yes i setted it up with the sky_day01_06 (or 07 i dont remember).
I also added A LOT of stuff since the last time so it will be hard too find the problem.
Maybe an entity outside the map, leak.Im just gona Alt+P to find any errors and i will post my results.
I will also post my log later to see if you can find any problems.
Thanks for the help.
