ZPS Wallpaper

[Henital Gerpies]

Hey everyone!

It's been a bit since I've posted here, but I have a little something for you all. :smile:

I've been getting lots of requests for ZPS wallpaper ever since the comic was released, but unfortunately the Fates have conspired against me in an effort to keep me away from this project (along with many others).

The inspiration for this particular image came from a recent game of ZPS when I came across a hapless survivor....I'll leave you to guess what happened. ;P

Anyway, things have eased up recently, and I was finally able to work on this over the weekend, so here is the first in what could become a series of wallpapers. Download it if you like and adorn your desktop with some ZPS goodness.

Which tablet do you use? I have a cheap one..doesn't even have the name on it. Still cost me a 100$ though! I want to get a tablet with a screen. ~~~~ they are expensive:(

I use a Wacom Cintiq 12wx, and it was very expensive, but for me when compared to a traditional tablet it improved the quality of my work by leaps and bounds.
Mind you, my background is in traditional art to begin with, so this just made digital art more intuitive and natural for me - it isn't going to automatically make you a fantastic digital artist, so forking over the dough for a monitor/tablet isn't practical in my view unless you are:

A) Going to use the hell out of it
B) Like me and have a traditional artistic foundation which is hindered by a traditional (look here but draw there) tablet
or
C) Have extensive experience with a traditional tablet and are looking to upgrade


That being said, you're probably going to have to pay at least $1000 for a monitor/tablet, so don't rule out something like Wacom's Intuos 4 line. I've used those as well, and while they don't have a monitor built in they are extremely good tablets.

I can't believe no one pointed me at this sooner, I would have definitely front paged this sooner. We've got a new bg image (since the quality always looks ~~~~e drawn images don't turn out as well :( ) but I'll definitely front page it for the ZPS 2.1 news (If I remember :D )

Well, I could've posted in it in ZPS General forum, but my OCD won't allow that (Art belongs in Art Forum!). ;P

I was actually thinking of remaking the current main screen picture as a wallpaper in this series, because I have a much better tablet now, and I've refined/improved my digital art, partially due to the new tablet.

I'm still working on the next in the series for the time being - pretty pleased with it thus far.
