ADVANTAGES OF MULTIPLE PISTOLS
(More commonly abbreviated Multi-Pistols)
The main point of this post is, well, using more than one pistol is often way easier and way more helpful than going off on a whim searching for a more powerful weapon. This post is a suggestion with lots of useful information to go along with what the suggestion.. suggests -- it might help you to use more than one pistol than using a more powerful weapon
First off, let's address the factors that go into the advantages (or disadvantages) of using multiple pistols.
Weight
Collection
Damage Output
Security
Weight is designed in ZPS to be the major drawback for hoarding guns and ammo. Your weight prevents you from out running, chasing and dodging a zombie in combat.
Continuing on from what Qloos said, THE MORE YOU CARRY THE SLOWER YOU ARE. The more guns you have gives you a huge disadvantage when it comes to being able to move around, but -- the more guns you have the higher amount of firepower and a higher damage output.
The whole reason this sort of build* works is because pistols obviously weigh less than a rifle or a shotgun but the downside is that you don't have a large damage output -- BUT if you have multiple pistols you can achieve a higher damage output while still being able to tread lightly.
Another reason why this build is so easily put together is because of how easy it is to find the weapons needed. Now we're onto the collection part of this post -- collecting pistols is REALLY EASY. Lots of players (sometimes good or bad) panic to get the "best" weapons available, or as most people know as, rifles and shotguns.
Picking up extra pistols at the spawn is easy. It requires no work and doesn't require you to search and sacrifice attention to corners where you could be ambushed or mauled by a horde or just by a single zombie. (most likely at this point if you're looking for a gun you only have a pistol or if you hit panic at the start, no guns)
Do pistols provide security? The answer is .. no, it doesn't. Most times, when you see a survivor with a rifle or shotgun, sometimes a magnum, you get intimidated. Yeah, fear plays a big role. If you see a survivor with a pistol you don't feel that intimidation -- this can sometimes result in something that gives you an advantage or disadvantage.
--- ADVANTAGE: The zombie(s) approach you because they don't think you'll be able to kill them with such bad equipment, you easily kill them.
--- DISADVANTAGE: The zombies (most likely) approach you because they KNOW they will be able to kill you, and they do.
Again, intimidation plays a big role, sometimes if not most times.
Overall using multiple pistols saves you a lot of time and effort. You can use what other survivors threw away, in other words, one man's trash is another man's treasure.
*build: Sometimes I have heard this term, it means an equipment strategy or a plan of what equipment you're going to be using. (a build)
NOTE: This is not organized to the best of my ability, you are better off just reading it from top to bottom instead of trying to spot some helpful information.
