I know this sounds stupid but how you move in the game is critical to how long you survive in the game and im not just talking about how much you carry. What most people dont consider when they move are two things, fields of fire and likely zombie points"
Fields of fire:
1) when moving you want to actively consider how much distance you can place between yourself and any where a zombie could possibly come from to give yourself the most time to shoot at it if one pops up. I know it sounds basic but consider how much time you spend actually considering this in game? from what ive seen its one of the leading causes as to why people get shot.
one of the biggest problems is corners. There are times to take them wide and times to cut them short.
Example: your coming up to a corner that L's (turns at a 90 degree angle) this is a time to take it wide. If you take this corner with your back against the far wall you dont risk a z being in your face or right behind you.
example 2: you come to a T section and you can go left or right. walk to the edge of the corner with your back to the opposite side your looking (if you peaking right be on the left wall). now doing this doesnt give you a full view of whats around the corner but gives you a idea. Now repeat for the other side. (inch up on the right wall looking left). now you know there is nothing right up against either corner. So cut the corner your at short and if its clear turn around and be sure nothing is on that side. This will keep you a max safe distance at all times.

*note both examples are for moving by yourself. Group tactics for corners are usually simpler
Walk past a door wide once to look in before charging inside and make sure you have a gun with good knock back ready when you do. There is no way to make a guide to every possible situation so just keep these tips in mind as you move
Where to point your gun:
When moving in a group not every one has to be looking in the same direction. Zombie can come from many directions be it the door you just passed or the hallway ahead. People looking in different directions helps cover all the angles better and leads to less wasted ammo as you dont have every one shooting at one target. if you have 4 guys looking ahead... cover the rear. If the rear is covered keep a eye on that doorway. If some one shouts "ZOMBIE" let them handle it. Dont waste bullets shooting at a zombie with 3 other people and leave your section uncovered.
Likely zombie points:
Zombies move in patterns. Especially in the beginning of the game. Most cant reach a certain point right away. Begin your round by planning for this.
Example: in cinema i know i can reach projector before a zombie and if i take a particular route i can also snag 2 primary weapons (which ill share later calm down) along the way. If i do this i can go back for ammo and other stuff later now that i have a primary weapon.
Later on zombies will spread out but can still count on patterns in their movement.
Example: Nightmare roof access stair from the main building. Zombies run by it all the time to get to the second floor. Zombies rarely actually look out at the roof when they do. Ive sat at the door way and seen several zombies run by then run behind them to freedom... or at least to get more ammo.
example: in cinema zombies spend most of their time outside, basement (when they spawn) and in the main hallways. They actually spend very little time in the actual theater rooms. so i cut through those alot when making my way through the level. the doors dont give the best sight lines but i wont have to likely fight a hoard either. Maybe just one or two coming up from spawn.
Think about when your a zombie and your usually hunting trails. Where you look for food and how you go about getting there. Use this knowledge to successfully avoid encounters.
Tips:
-keep your gun loaded but pick where you reload carefully. If you still have a lot left in your clip and your running around confused dont make your gun unusable by starting to reload
-if you see a zombie while wondering and it doesnt see you... let it go. Pick where you engage a zombie based on escape routes, likelyness others will hear and come limping, and how much ammo you have. Pick your battles.
-communicate while moving. Dont give away your exact location (for those servers with all talk) but get organized cooperate. youll live longer if you can trust the guy behind you to know whats going on
-keep your group size in mind for where you go. Large groups need big open spaces to be effective. Tight spots become cluster floops.
-organize group movement by weapons. Snipers (mags) in back or middle with other guns in front for knock back.
